Rough Night For All

So last night was a crazy night, well crazy may be a little bit dramatic because it was not "that bad" mostly it was because Zoe woke up a couple times crying really loud like she either had a bad dream was not feeling well. Cicely went in and help to calm her down one time and she went back to sleep for another hour or so.

Then about an hour later she woke up doing the same thing so I went in to try and soothe her with no luck. We laid in the chair together rocking, sang songs as well as rubbed her head and back. She was still yelling out, tears flowing and my heart breaking trying to figure out what I could do to help her feel better.

After 15 minutes or so I gave up and went to the garage where Cicely was working on projects to see if she had any ideas. She tried to soothe her as well, at times that is all it takes is a little snuggling from momma. Again, no luck unfortunately and Zoey was just not a very happy camper.

Next I suggested that maybe she was hungry? She did eat a decent dinner but did not have a bottle so maybe she just needed to have her belly topped off. So I held her and kept her entertained for a the next 4 1/2 minutes until the bottle was warmed up. Cicely pulled it out, gave it a few shakes and verified it was warm and not hot.

Zoey reached for it with excitement and immediately started guzzling it down. So that was it, poor kiddo was hungry again. Something so easy to fix and we missed it initially. This is one thing that will be awesome once she is talking. On the other hand talking will bring about its own new challenges.

Cicely and Zoey hung out in the chair until the bottle was gone and Zoey was calm. She put Zoey back into the crib where she tossed, turned and babbled a bit until finally falling back asleep allowing Cicely to head back to the garage and work on projects she needs to get finished and shipped out to her customers this week.

I was already asleep by this time. There was no reason for us to both be up although I could have easily stayed in the room with the bottle and Zoey until she fell back asleep. Cicely wanted to do it, she's a great mom that way and I know better than to argue. I grabbed Oggy off the couch, took him into our room and he and I snuggled in and went to sleep. Well until I woke up just before 6:00 AN with my own problems now.

My Turn

Once Zoey was in bed as mentioned I had already went to sleep and slept pretty good until nearly 5:50 AM. At that time I woke up roasting hot with my head pounding like I had a jackhammer inside along with a neck cramp.

I took a couple Advil and drank a full 16 ounce bottle of water and tried to cool down. The interesting part of all this is that my temperature was 94.1° which is really low even for me. I am usually about a degree lower than what is considered normal for everyone else.

This meant that I was either going to go down hill or start getting really cold and weak. After about 1/2 hour of being up and Cicely wanting me to come to bed I finally did. She covered me up tight and set the alarm on her phone to wake us up again in another half hour. The last thing I wanted to do was be woken up every 5 minutes as the alarm went off.

Cicely was nice enough to keep me warm and snuggled up and handle the alarm on her phone instead of me whacking the radio snooze button. Doing so was really helpful and I was able to get nearly another hour of sleep instead of only the half hour I wanted.

Once up I had a big cup of coffee and my morning breakfast bowl and started to get my butt moving to get to work. By the time I was ready, had breakfast and so on I felt much better and was ready for the day.

Once at work the day was crazy busy and I don't remember much about the day to be perfectly honest. I mean yes, of course I do remember the day but what I mean is that it really flew by.

Now on the way home I feel much better and plan to go for a trainer bike ride tonight again and as long as I can, hopefully closer to the distance last night or even further would be cool.

With that, hopefully your day was a great one and you made progress. If not as I always say there is plenty of time left in the week to improve things. Otherwise keep doing what you are doing if it works for you this time around.

Photo: Some of the toys in Zoey's toy box tub. The thing filled up really fast and we still have toys all over the house and some we have not even taken out of the box from Christmas. With her birthday around the corner we may need another toy box!
