A Lamb Becomes A Kitten

Today started off as an average Thursday  until Cicely dropped Zoey off at school today. I had no idea what was going on to be honest. Cicely came to work, logged in and pinged me with a message saying nothing more than "are you in your cube and if so do you have a minute?".

Moving On Up

Cicely made it over to my cube once I was out of meetings. We decided to get over to the cafeteria and get some food before they closed for the day or ran out of the food that we would want to have for the day's lunch.

On the way down to the café we were able to talk for a few minutes, more like she was able to drop the bomb on me that was dropped on her this morning when she dropped of our baby girl.

Because Zoey is nearly 1 and the other kids in the room are so young she really needs to get additional stimulation and motivation to grow. Right now she has been having some problems going to sleep the past few nights this week and I have a feeling that she is simply full of energy due to the lack of stimulation.

If she goes over to the Kittens from Lambs she will get to go outside and play once the weather is warmer. She will also be one of the younger kids in the room just as she was before in Lambs so it will give her the opportunity to continue to grow her brain, physical abilities and so on.

Some of the differences over there are that they only take two naps per day. One nap at 9:30am then another later in the mid afternoon at 2:30pm. She will also be able to continue to have her bottles and lunch and those are a little more times than we are dealing with now. Not that not is a bad thing, it's more that we have the wiggle room that we would then lose at that point.

If so we would need to get in a little earlier to work and work on getting her schedule setup in such a way that she is able to participate in all of the things in the classroom as the other kids. The hope would be to make life easier for her to be a part of the class as a whole.

I understand there is a lot of negative words preceding this sentence and that is not the intent. It's a great thing to have her moving up. For us it's more along the lines of us being hit in the face that our little baby Zoey 'bug', 'bear' and all of her other cute little nicknames.

All The News For Today

Anyway, that is about all that I have for today and it's actually a big one. Having Zoey moving up and out of a room into another room is a little bit exciting and scary at the same time. Our little one is growing so fast and we are both excited for her to progress and move up at school and in life if even only a year.

Photo: So true, love my coffee in the morning and feel incomplete if I don't have a cup before I leave the house to start my day - weekend or not.
