Blur, Total Blur

Okay so as I write this entry it's already pushing 6pm and I have no idea where the day went. We did show up just a little later than usual today although not late enough that the day should have been as crazy as it was, well blurred as much as it was from the start.

I was either in and out of meetings all day or at my desk working on things for my team to go through or take part in if they decided they wanted to and had interest in doing so. Today's topic was in regards to anyone that would be interested in being involved in helping to guide the future direction of our hardware platform.

In the past this was not something we were ever part of or given the opportunity to provide input into. Instead it was more along the lines of us getting handed new hardware and being told to use it to the fullest and make cool stuff with it.

While this sounds great on paper it does not hold water in practice. If you develop based simply on what you want to develop more times than not you will be stuck in a situation where there are issues with the design. This in turn makes us have to come up with new processes and procedures that may very well not be in the best interest of game development as a whole from the studios point of view.

No matter that in fact was a big part of my day and took up much more time than it should have. So I managed to miss the gym although mostly by choice so I could get a few more things done in the meantime. I will cycle again tonight on the trainer anyhow.

Climbing

Speaking of cycling I am planning to do more climbing tonight to work towards getting 28,000 feet of elevation during the month of February. The problem for me is that I started 10 days into the month so with only 18 days left I need to either do some serious rides uphill or I need to manage to do at least 1300 to 1500 feet every single ride of every single day until the end of the month.

I am pretty sure that I can do it, so long as I can stay focused and don't tweak my back or something stupid. Plus I would like to be able to also get my 100k in this month to get the Grand Fondo shirt for completing it.

This weekend the weather should actually be nice compared to last weekends rainy windy days so I will be able to get in a nice long ride Saturday if I can get up early enough. The only real shxtty part of it for me mentally is that Saturday is Valentine's Day and I will be out riding if I attempt the 100k.

This makes me sad and I was worried that this would be a dickhead husband thing to do and Cicely and Zoey would want to go have breakfast or something for Valentines. I was thinking that instead maybe we could all three go out after I get home, shower and do brunch. Because I am always starving after a ride and Cicely love breakfast any time of the day that it would be fun.

All Done

That's all that I really have for today. The day went by super fast as mentioned from the beginning of the post and the night is almost doing the same, zipping by which is my queue to quit typing this entry and get on with the evening.

Hopefully your day has been productive even if it too was a blur. If not there are still two days left to work things out and get some productive days in.
