Cicely's Phat Bike

I know that there will be those that will comment and say "didn't you just buy her a new bike?". Or I heard that you are getting another bike or another RC car, helicopter or whatever the case may be. It's all good, I like to get my wife and daughter toys - yes and not only because it gives me a really good reason to buy another one for myself. Although admittedly it does not hurt!

Plus, I work my ass off just like many of those I hang around with therefore we all have an understanding and we know we are not buying to impress or otherwise, instead to enjoy the money that we have earned over the year with a shiny new toy for ourselves or others now and again. Of course we will share with family as well as appropriate.

Phat Cycles Daisy Classic

So the bike that Cicely ended up with, well the one that I got for her is the Phat Cycles Daisy Classic bike. The thing is really cool looking and she already took it for a test ride tonight and had a lot of fun with it I think.

The bike I ordered is of course a pearlescent bubblegum pink that has a sparkly metallic look to the paint. It also has daisies either painted or decals I don't remember, on the front and back fenders as well as the chain guard. It has the upgraded grips and seat and even a 3 speed transmission that they consider an automatic transmission.

The pedals have been upgraded to the ones that you can ride without shoes on, although I encourage her to always wear shoes when she is riding, especially around here. It has a bell on it just in case there is anyone in her way and a basket up front that is easily detached and carried if she runs up to the store or goes somewhere for a picnic lunch with Zoey one day.

I think there are some tassels coming in as well this week but I am not 100% sure if that is the 'other thing' that Tom at the shop was mentioning or not. I had mentioned them to him although I was not sure if he would take me serious or be able to get them for this bike. No matter she is really happy with it and so am I. I posted a picture of it a few days back I am pretty sure. If not I will double check and make it the photo of the day for tomorrow.

Velominati

There are a set of rules that were once put out and whether relating to big kid toys or simply things we like to collect or do there is a great formula for determining if you have enough on hand or not. If not then it's wise to consider your financial situation, space you have to store your bikes and then determine where the n+1 or s-1 fits into your life.

Before I go any further I know that most of us admit we do or do not fall into this characterization of number 12. If not I would bet that you will find at something to match up with something you enjoy collecting or a long time hobby. There are far more than 12 items on the list, all relating to various aspects, this was the key one for today. Plus I was not going to post 80+ of them here!
12. The minimum number of bikes (or any toy for that matter) one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. In some circumstances this equation may be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.
Weather

I was going to glaze over it for today and wait until tomorrow to complain and/or talk about it but really quickly I wanted to mention that the weather was in fact pure shxt today and either raining, windy or a combination of them both so I was unable to do my 100km ride as planned. I might have been able to just make it this morning if I had left super early, though the rain from yesterday left behind wet and slippery roads and it was cold out, really cold.

If I am not able to go for a spin tomorrow then I will have to wait until next weekend. The weather is looking to be much warmer on Saturday and I should not have a problem getting a ride in of 100km. I really would like to get the finisher shirt this month for doing so because it matches my new road bike really well and would be cool to earn no matter if it matched or not!
Photo: A package that Cicely picked up today from her laser cutter guy. I thought it was funny that it was Fablic and wanted to post a few things related to it on Facebook along with this photo but my conscious kicked in and I decided not to 'just in case'.
