Sunday Indoors

So today was exactly what the title of this post reads and honestly nothing more. It was a cold and windy day outside so there was no reason to go out and play in it on the bike like I wanted to do.

Because of the crappy weather and not being able to go out for a nice spin I decided that today would be the day that I would breakdown and FINALLY start moving all of our photos from SmugMug to something else. What exactly that something else is, has yet to be fully vetted although I am almost certain that it's going to be a site that goes by the name of This Life.

This Life is actually not a new company, it is a sister company to a very well known and long standing online photo website by the name of Shutterfly. I am almost certain anyone that has been on the Internet any amount of time over the past 15 years has either heard of Shutterfly, used their services in some form or even received a gift that originated there.

My point is that I am confident they will be around for the long haul and my photos will be safe and secure on their web space. Now I am not saying that SmugMug is a slouch by any means because it's not. It's more of the fact that I put so much effort into SmugMug over a year or more only to make one small mistake while creating a new album that ended up destroying everything that I had previously done to my albums.

Even trying to go the route of fixing them, sticking with SmugMug and remembering to NEVER make that ever so easy mistake again was proving to be near impossible as I almost did it several times again whilst fixing my broken albums. This is a huge problem and something that I have zero interest in dealing with so I am cutting my losses and moving on.

It's unfortunate too because I have a lot of great comments and as mentioned overall thought, time and effort into the current setup. My trust is no longer there and therefore I have no interest in continuing to subscribe to their services.

Anyway, that is about enough out of me for one day. I am going to have some dinner and watch The Walking Dead and see what happens with the new guy that showed up squeaky clean last week.
