In my opinion I think that we could easily get away with one meeting every 3 weeks and just as well off, with more information for each meeting. Instead we take the time to group up and meet and the next thing you know we have all been chatting for 5-10 minutes, our director comes in and the meeting actually begins and the good information and discussion begins.
Once he has gone over everything in his list we will open it up for questions, topics of discussion or things to discuss the next week. Everyone starts to leave and ends up chatting more afterwards and there goes another 5-15 minutes of the day.
Once back to your own cube you settle back in and try to get to work and back on track. This can take another couple minutes and that is only if you have no interruptions which is not common.
Smoking Piece Of Shxt
On the way to work this morning there was this fucking asshole that was tailgating people on the highway big time and for no apparent reason. Traffic was moving along at a good speed.
Anyway he would get up on people so flipping close that you could not see the car in front of him.then he would push the accelerator to the floor and the rest of the traffic behind him would be lost in a massive cloud of grey smoke that stunk and honestly made it difficult to see the road and what was going on.
Cicely and I finally made it up alongside him and she wrote down his license plate number so she could report the problem to the DMV. They have a smoking car smog thing so hopefully they actually follow up on them and at least warn the guy to fix it. Not only is it dangerous because cars behind him can't see but it smells terrible.
Cicely was actually getting a headache from the smoke and her tongue was not feeling normal, instead kinda numb and tingly after breathing the crap. I hope she feels better once at work, breathing some fresh air on the way into the studio and eventually having a warm cup of tea to start the day.
Freezing Temperatures
It's a much colder day out today, one of the coldest this season so far according to the weather guessers. I think they guessed that the high for today will max out at 60 degrees. This means we hit freezing last night so I need to begin thinking about turning off the irrigation system for the year and winterized it.
My dad already has had bad luck with his this season, one of the controllers in the green box that is only a foot or so under ground broke. This means that the zone it controls will run non stop until the system is manually shutdown and the part is replaced. The crappy part is that the company he uses want something like $600 to do the repairs, I think that quote is at least $350 too high.
I feel as though I should make the time to go over and help him out but I don't think that I have the extra time for a side project at the moment. At the same time, if it will save him $350 or more, it may be the best choice.
I know that last week was not a good week for him and my step mom. The had a big ass pine tree fall down from the wind last week, just missing my dads truck. Then they went to turn on the fireplace and no dice, so that will need repairs of some sort. Next the ice maker went out in their refrigerator so that can be expensive, cheap, time consuming or a combination of those depending on the part that is broken and the availability of the new part.
Last but not least was the broken irrigation system. Add all of that together and what do you get besides stress? A repair bill of hundreds to thousands of dollars. Something they do not have at the moment due to my step mom being out of work for her upper back surgery.
Speaking of which she's scheduled to have a second surgery Wednesday of next week, the 29th, on her lower back. The idea is to get it all done at once before she is required to go back to work. I sure hope that she is able to heal up quickly and more importantly feel closer if not fully 100%.
I can't imagine what she goes through with back problems but knowing how mine effect me and life in general I can only imagine how hard it would be to deal with it all of the time. After awhile pain medication for that seems to no longer be very effective and is hard in your system anyhow.
Anyway, enough about that topic. I just wanted to get it down on paper once I started writing it, it was not immediately easy to stop typing.
Otherwise
There is not a whole lot more for me to rabble rabble about today. Tuesday's are not my favorite day of the week because of the aforementioned meetings.
For some stupid reason it raises me to a completely other level of stress. Trying to keep up as I would like to becomes much more problematic and difficult to do. My optimistic side says that there is always time for all of those things that are truly necessary.
My pessimistic side says that I am on getting further behind and nothing else should matter until I have taken care of important tasks that require my undivided attention and have very rigid, corporate-wide due dates.
Time now to end my rabbling and jump into those tasks and at the very least get them opened up as a reminder of what needs to be done today.
Otherwise my calendar wall of meeting reminders are going to start popping up at a machine gun rate and I will be dodging and weaving bullets invites the entire day! Have a great day and smile no matter how bad you think it is there is always someone having a much worse day than either of us.
