Today started out with me making a nice bug cup of coffee, 3 packets of sugar in the raw and 1 tablespoon of natural caramel creamer. Next I added hot water to my cup of oatmeal, doctored it up with a splash of maple syrup and a handful of cranberries. The oatmeal comes with apples, strawberries and blueberries so I end up with an awesome breakfast.
Working On The Weekend
Once my oatmeal was ready I grabbed it and my coffee and sat down to work on reviews. What ended up happening was that I worked solely on my review. I had no idea that it would take so long to do it.
By the time I finished writing my review and providing measurable feedback and proof reading the entire thing a second time, made some adjustments, and read it once more just to be sure that I was satisfied with everything and I was.
I submitted my review back to my manager and decided that was enough for today and I would do more later. I looked up at the clock and about shxt myself, that can't be right - it was nearly 1:30 in the afternoon! That means that it took me just over 4 hours to complete my review and submit the final one.
Holy crap, that is only one down and now I still have 9 more to go. More times than not it takes me quite awhile to do my teams reviews because I spend so much time on them. I guess it's going to be a late night tonight and a day of reviews tomorrow once I get back from a ride.
Honestly this really sucks and I am not too happy about spending my entire weekend stressing about reviews and working on them. I will have to rub some dirt in it and put on my big boy pants. It's part of my job now as a manager and thankfully only twice a year.
Cycling
Even though I was up nice and early it did not mean that I would be able to go for a ride. Instead I went later in the day after things were done and I had chilled for a few hours, had some lunch and played with Zoey.
I ended up riding for just over 20 miles in an hour and some change. Not too bad considering it was night time so I have to avoid sprinklers, drunks and animals. Plus I had made some adjustments to the bike to try and get a better ride, more power from my legs and a better position so I don't injure my body from over using muscle groups that should be rotated throughout the pedal strikes and ride based on my position, whether I am climbing or powering through a straight section building speed.
Anyway, it was a great ride and I am happy that I was able to go, forget about the reviews for an hour and clear my head to start them again.
Dinner
After my ride we decided it was prime time to head up to Steak n' Shake for dinner - awesome idea!
So we grabbed Oggy and put on his seat belt harness, bundled up Zoey and put her in her car seat and headed out to get dinner.
I ended up getting a little more than I normally would have. Mostly because I had just burned well over 1200 calories on my ride and I was friggin hungry. My lunch only consisted of two corn tortillas with bacon in them and a slice of Swiss cheese to make them gooey.
Jumper
Last but not least I was so happy because Zoey's new toy arrived today that I secretly ordered her earlier in the week from Amazon. It's one of those baby jumpers that you put in the doorway.
This one is really cool because it not only senses when you are jumping and then stop because it will tell you after a moment "ready to jump again, I bet you are - 3, 2, 1 and juuump"!
It also has sensors that knows which direction the toys are being turned and played with and adjusts the music based on that. It has a numbers piano keyboard thing as well for her to whack and make music while doing so.
All-in-all I think it was a great purchase. She played in it for well over 15 minutes, which in baby time is like an hour of our time! I think the only reason she wanted out was because she was getting hungry and a little tired. By the time Cicely made her a bottle she was already fast asleep in her MamaRoo so we moved her to the crib where she napped a good couple of hours only to wake up ready to eat and get back in the jumper.
Not thinking, Cicely put Zoey right in the jumper only to let her have some fun for a few minutes before puking the majority of her her post nap bottle all over the jumper and seat ha ha.
Oh well, it happens and there is nothing you can do about it other than wash it, put it back in until the next time she pukes or has a blow out and poops in it. On the bright side at least now the jumper is officially broken in!
Dinner Time
Okay that will have to do it for today. We are on our way back home with dinner and I am ready to chow down! The few handfuls of fries I shoved in my mouth as an appetizer did little more than make me that much more hungry!
Photo: No photo today so I snapped one while we were trying to figure out what we wanted to eat reading the menu board in the drive thru.
