Hello Week

Okay here we go it's October 6 and the start of a new work week. The weekend was actually pretty relaxing and we even managed to get quite a bit done. We still have a pretty long list of to-dos although I think that is common with any weekend.

Things like laundry are not completely done yet and we still have to go to the grocery store to fill up our cabinets and fridge but all-in-all it was a great weekend. Plus you should never judge the greatness of a weekend or vacation based on what you did not get done rather how do you enjoyed it.

Cycling For A Cause

Today kicks off my challenge that I signed up for on Strava to help raise both money and awareness for disabled athletes. The main sponsor is a company that goes by the name of GU. They have offered to pay one cent for every mile ridden by members over the next 20 days.

When the challenge is all said and done they will pay up to $50,000 to the disabled athletes charity/fund.

For taking part in the challenge and if I can cycle at least 300km between October 6 and October 26 I will be eligible to purchase a T-shirt for the event for $35. Some may say "why do you have to pay for a shirt for an event you are raising money for?". Reason is; that 100% of the profits from the shirt sales goes towards the fund as well. I am sure a small portion out of the $35 is either for the shirt itself or shipping and handling which means that will be a nice chunk of money to the fund as well.

So in reality I am only paying around $10 for the shirt and then maybe a few bucks for shipping - if that. Even if the price of the shirt was double what it is I would do it anyway. And before you ask, yes, even if the full $35 or whatever amount was going to Strava for the shirt.

It's think this challenge is for a great cause and I am willing to support it 100%. Not to forget that my biggest reward for participating is the additional fitness I achieve for cycling 300+ km.

Work Work

Today I need to buckle down again and get work done, mostly reviews. I managed to only get a single review completed over the weekend and that one was mine! Took me just over 4 hours to complete it and I am happy with the results. Once I started putting ink to paper so-to-speak, I realized I had a much larger list than expected of all of my accomplishments for the year. Always a great side-effect at review time vs not having anything.

Merge

Okay merging into the work lane and taking care of those things that I am paid to take care of. Hopefully the weekend treated you fair and you are refreshed and ready for the week.

I am looking forward to this Sunday because The Walking Dead starts again. Should be a great season based on the way the previous season ended with everyone being held hostage in that weird town and then put into the train cargo cars at the end of the final episode.

My hope is that the entire season will not revolve around the train car and the crazy town like the season previously with the Governor and all that crap.

Either way I can't wait to see what happens! Seems anymore the zombies are the second thing to worry about. The humans that have ganged up and found a crazy ass leader have become a much bigger threat.
