Crazy night last night, well not really but I guess it was crazy in its own right. I left work a little late, actually nearly 2 hours after I had planned to leave and was already getting tired. I napped a little on the way home since Cicely was driving. Still not enough rest and on top of it I was starving, and starving big time.
The day got away from me and I never had a chance to have lunch. For breakfast I only had a small breakfast bowl that was 240 calories and not enough to get me through an entire day. Thankfully it did to some extent, meaning I never passed out from lack of food or energy.
Cicely went over to Five Guys burgers and picked us up some dinner instead of just waiting for me outside in the car. By the time she made it back I was ready to get out of work and get home. Opening the door of the car did nothing short of making me even more hungry - the aroma of hot french fries and burgers poured out, my stomach rumbled just in case I had forgotten I had not eaten.
Dinner To Zzz
So we got home, did all of the usual stuff and changed into our comfortable clothes. We made Zoey and Oggy their dinner and were ready to eat ours, after playing with each of the kids for a few of course. Cant have them waiting for us all day only to feed and ignore them once home.
Anyway, we eventually sat down and started eating while watching last weeks episode of Doctor Who that we had recorded on TiVo. About 1/2 the way through the show Cicely had to pause it to go change Zoey's diaper and I took the opportunity to lay to one side for a few and shut my eyes. I wanted to snooze if only for a few minutes because once the show was over I needed to go on my first bike ride of the 20 days of 300km competition I signed up for.
The next thing I knew Zoey was crying and ready for another bottle, the TV was off and Cicely was sitting on the couch waiting for Zoey's bottle to heat up while playing on her iPad and Zoey watching her do so. Zoey loves to watch her play, she even taps the screen at times, unfortunately most times she messes up a good move or takes the game to the store to buy more coins, lives or something. Totally funny to be honest, although it wont be in a few years when she actually does the purchases.
I grumbled a little then switched position and told Cicely I needed just a few more minutes. About an hour later I decided to get up and head into the bedroom and lay down there. Next thing I knew Cicely was hollering at me to wake up and get under the covers, oh and face the correct direction. When I went in there before I just sorta laid down and was out, cross-ways on the bed.
Alarm
Next thing to happen was the alarm clock going off to tell me to get my ass out of bed and start getting ready for work, so I did and started my usual morning routine.
All said and done I probably only slept about 10 hours but for me that is like sleeping an entire day. I still feel a little groggy and tired today but that will pass. I had the energy to get outside and mow the front lawn at least. That is one thing marked off of my to-do list for the week until this weekend.
The downside is that I missed out on my first of 20 rides to get my 300km for the competition. Not a big deal, I will still be able to make my goal I think no problem. I just don't want it to boil down to where I am cramming it all in on the two weekends that span the contest days.
Does It
That will do it for today. I have a jam packed day with meetings and lots of other stuff to get done, one of which is still all of the reviews for my team. I have started them, and have my ducks in a row for the great accomplishments they made over the year as well as those things they can work on for the upcoming year. Never a fun time of the year, but necessary - so off to it!

Photo: Zoey's cute little foot and toes. Just want to tickle them! As you can see from the photo I was not the only one that was conked out last night - kiddo was as well. Poor Cicely was the only one up and alert, heck even Oggy was snuggled up with me on the couch, then in bed.
