Doctors & Screenings

Today starts off with a visit to the doctors office for nothing more than a "how's it going" appointment. Those tend to be a real hassle when I am going every couple months or more so my hope is that after today's I will not have to go back again until at least the first part of the year.

It's not like it's difficult or anything, just more of a "one more thing on the long list of things to do". Oh actually today's is also to go over my blood work that I had done a few weeks ago. I completely spaced that. Well crap, I hope that does not turn into something else like I need to swap a medicine around or something, that is always a hassle and will in fact require appointments sooner than later to verify that everything is normal.

Screening

Today is the health fair and biometric screening at work. We have them once per year and by participating we receive $650 off of our medical insurance premiums for the year. I realize it works out to just $25 a pay period but that is not a bad benefit for such an easy ask.

I know that there are laws and lawsuits happening because of the screenings and the ADA (American Disability Act) although I think that that way my company is doing it is well within the guidelines of the ADA and is in no way discriminating against anyone.

At least that is my long term hope. I would hate do see the benefit go away, with Cicely and I both on it that is a savings of $1300 a year!

Weather Guessers 

Alright so no surprise but the weather guessers were wrong once again, well mostly anyway. They predicted bad weather yesterday and (thankfully) we did not have anything of the sort other than a little annoying wind in the late afternoon which is not uncommon.

Today it's supposed to be in the 80's and nice although they are still confident that we will start getting crappy weather late tonight and into Saturday when it starts to get much colder outside.

Wait and see is about all that we can do at this point. I would like it if the weather stayed nice enough for us to take Zoey to the pumpkin patch on Saturday though. Otherwise we may have to simply go to some random one around town to get pictures of her.

Sundown

So I think that will be the end of my entry for today. It's been a long day and all of us are very tired. Zoey is already napping in the back and Cicely looks very tired as well. She has had a very busy and slightly stressful day working on many difficult projects all at once.

Anyway, all of the health screenings and doctor visits are done for a while so that is good news. I went ahead and had my flu shot today while at the doctors office so I was able to skip the health fare all together which was nice.
