After doing nothing other than writing reviews the entire weekend then jumping back into work this morning, even though I did show up nearly an hour late, what should otherwise be the start of the workweek and me being refreshed and ready for action feels more as though I have been stuck in a time warp the past 48 hours.
I got home Friday night and relaxed a little bit, watched some TV and hung out with the family for a little while. From there that was pretty much the extent and highlight of my weekend.
First thing Saturday morning I jumped right into work and did not stop other than to go to the bathroom, fill up my drink or grab a snack. After I would take the snack back to the laptop and back to work for me.
Today
The day started off with me going to a meeting literally 5 minutes after being in the game studio. The worst part of it all was that I was the one that set/up the meeting on Friday, maybe Thursday, and I honestly forgot about it.
Thankfully no-one noticed that I was late to my own demo but it worked out in the end and I doubt that a single person realized I was behind. The laptop still had to be set-up which another problem all in itself that needs to be worked out once I find the extra time to do so.
Once out of the demo it was lunch so Cicely ran and picked her and I up some lunch and while she did that I tried to catch up on a few things. By the time she made it back I grabbed my lunch from her and ran back inside, ate and worked on some more things on my list.
Gym
About an hour and a half after eating and putting out some fires I was finally able to get down to the gym and hop on the elliptical for 30 minutes and then throw around weights for a little while doing strength training. Today I worked on my upper back, lower back as well as my quads to hopefully help with my cycling performance and climbing abilities.
Felt really good to get down there to do both cardio and strength training after missing a couple days last week due to the fact that I was overwhelmed with all of the extra work that was necessary to have the time to do reviews over the weekend in hopes of easing the pressures on me this week.
Adiós
Enough for today, on the way home now and talking to Cicely because she had a rough stressful day and I hate hearing that and seeing her stressed out. I like it when she is happy and singing songs to our Zoey!
I am planning to go for a quick bike ride and clear my head for a solid 45 minutes or so then get back home and do all the usual stuff to prepare for tomorrow and see what challenges it brings my way.
I hope that you had a positive, successful day and that tomorrow will bring you more of the same!
Photo: Always so difficult to leave my buddy alone at home during the week. Oggy is such an awesome boy and an important part of our family!
