So the majority of today consisted of me messing around on the computer once again for a good 6 to 7 hours. This was not exactly what I wanted to be doing since I had planned to go out and go for a ride as early as possible.
I was up nice and early and even had my farina for breakfast with tasty Craisons added. Of course I had a nice thick cup of pour over coffee as I always do. I managed to accomplish all of this way before I had anticipated I would do things were off to a great start.
Because I was ahead of things and instead of asking Cicely to take care of it I made Oggy's breakfast and Zoey her first bottle of the day as well as got her up and situated for the morning.
Next I decided to get on my MacBook Pro for a few while I ate and enjoyed my coffee mostly to see what was going on with friends and family as well as the good ole Internet in general. Unfortunately Ihad forgotten that yesterday I started and stopped the new Yosemite OS update because I knew it would take me at least a couple hours to set up.
Now that I already had it open and because I had received a few update messages for other applications as well I decided to do them and work on the Yosemite upgrade modifications"For only a few minutes until my food was done", and what do you know? There went the day straight down the toilet.
No matter at least I was able to get the majority of the set-up done. More than likely now there will only be a few little tweaks that I will have to attend to as they come up or as I noticed certain things that are not working the way that I am was to them working before the upgrade.
This is all pretty standard stuff though. It happens with everything from smart phones to laptops as well as desktop computers.
Through the years and after doing it multiple times on several operating systems such as; iOS, MacOS, Windows and others a person ends up getting used to all of the reconfiguration crap.

After sitting on my ass most of the day I decided to have some McDonald's for lunch, LOL! I guess that's just the way it is some weekends and that is 100% okay in my book.
I knew I wasn't going to have a problem burning off the few extra calories from the fast food, plus I generally choose very mindful items off the menu.
Once done eating I let my food settle for a little while, maybe a half hour or so which kinda sucked because doing so put me that much closer to being short on daylight.
Once I felt like everything was settled in my stomach I threw on my gear and headed out for a nice ride. It was daylight when I left but I knew based on the time that I left it would be dark by time I got back if not before.
Good thing I took my reflective gear, headlight and blinky taillight. It was black as black by the time I was 3/4 of the way done with my ride and on my way back home. This made me have to rethink the route that I was taking back home so I would be in a safer area with roads that are better lit and have less traffic.
Thankfully I am extremely familiar with the area and where to go depending on the time of day as well as what day of the week it is because that also makes a significant difference.
All said and done and back home I am happy to report that I cycled just over 31 miles today. That not only makes me feel awesome but it also gets me that much closer to my goal for the 20 days of 300 km or more writing that I am doing to raise money for disabled athletes.
Sure, selfishly I unlock a reward after completion. As I have mentioned in the past, doing so gives me the ability to buy a shirt to not only support the foundation but also gives me the opportunity to remember my accomplishment in the event and the award of fitness.
I want to clarify as I have before that the money that Strava earns from shirt sales goes to the fund as well other than a small portion to cover shipping and printing costs as expected.
I am very excited to be a part of this fund raiser. I am confident that as a group of hundreds, thousands, heck maybe even tens of thousands of cyclist I bet we will have no problem cycling enough miles to earn the foundation the $50,000 they will get when we succeed.
I also look forward to wearing the challenge shirt with pride. It will be the 3rd one that I have earned on Strava. Some people think you are an "asshole" or as they say a "Stravahole" if you use a Garmin or other device such-as a smart phone to record rides and measure how you did. Whatever, I think that it's great motivation. I don't know if I could have done my first century ride so soon otherwise. Plus I like t-shirts to remember events, I think they are really cool.
This month I am not trying for the 130km in one ride jersey because it's purple and not a color I would ever wear. Needless to say I was and still am really stoked when they put up this secondary challenge for October.

Alright it's time for me to call this entry done and get on with the things that need to be done on a Sunday evening in preparation for the work week.
Hopefully your weekend was awesome and you were able to do all the things that you wanted to. We were not able to go to the pumpkin patch because they were closed so we plan to go next Saturday. Nothing like the last minute huh? It's OK we never go to those types of things anyhow so it will be fun to go and even more-so because we are taking Zoey to her first one. I wish we could take Oggy as well but I'm sure there are no pets allowed even though he is much more than a pet to us.
OK with that - have a great start to the week! It's looking to be a busy one for me again with a doctors appointment to wrap up the week on Friday.
Photo: Tonight's awesome dinner that Cicely made for us out of the Clean Eating magazines that we have been meaning to use more often for recipe ideas. Tonight's is "Steak salad with mesh oil dates and Blue Cheese crumbles". Yum, I absolutely cannot wait to enjoy a bowl or plate of it.
