Tuesday is my Monday this week so today it's back to the game studio for me. Should be fairly quiet because everyone is down in Las Vegas for our annual gaming show. From what I have heard so far from those that checked out the convention floor over the weekend and yesterday before the show opened was that things were looking stellar and that we have an amazing lineup that has a lot of buzz around our booth, cool!
Review Season
As mentioned in past posts, it's that time of year once again for me to setup the reviews for my team and potentially start doing some of the one-on-ones once HR gives us the go-ahead to do so. The process is so crazy in my opinion and I honestly think we could get more out of an honest face to face review along with a few things to work on as well as pointing out those things that were done very well through the year.
I do understand from a business point of view the value they feel this process holds or adds, in practice though, I find it to be much more sterile and not as personable with the team. Rating ones self through a range of "stars" is something I would expect on eBay or Amazon, not for the quality of work an employee performs day after day.
No matter, no use crying over spilled milk as they say. This is the process that we have in front of us and what I will continue to follow until the company decides to go another direction with it. Never really know, that direction could be much worse!
Kiddo
Zoey seems to be feeling a little bit better today. She is still coughing a bit and has snot and sneezes but otherwise normal and playing as usual. It's interesting how kids don't really react the same as adults when it comes to colds.
They keep on playing and being themselves unless it's really bad, then they just don't know why exactly they feel like they do and want us to fix it. We always want to take it away from them, obviously we can't, we can be there, comfort them and help until it passes.
About It
That will wrap it up for today. I am still on my iPhone 5, I was too tired last night to continue going through photos. I think I managed to verify just over 350 that were backed up in the cloud and deleted from my device. Now I just have to get through the next 600 or so, yikes!
Photo: Zoey's cool bathmat, well really it's for us to kneel down on next to the tub while giving her a bath - makes it SO MUCH more comfortable!
