Rainy Day 2

Woke up around 1:45 AM to the sound of an unhappy, hungry daughter and on my way to hear room I could not help but to hear the flowing water through the gutters and french drains outside. Looking out the window I could see the pouring rain in the street lights glow, bummer!

While I am happy for the rain because it will help to put out the fires the past few weeks, it will put a huge dampener on my bike riding today. As I type this paragraph the wind is blowing but no more rain. The streets are still too wet for a ride though. If the sun would pop out from behind the clouds for just a little while I think I would be able to get one in, we will see.

Nope, No Dice

So no dice on the ride today, the rain never let up enough for it to dry up outside. I ended up doing just over 3.4 miles on the treadmill instead to at least get some cardio in and get my ass off the couch for a little while.

That is one thing about the weather getting colder - it makes it much more difficult to have the energy to do things. Sitting on the couch, snuggled up in a warm blanket is hard to beat.

Tomorrow is a fresh new day so we will see how the weather is. Worst case it will be another day on the treadmill, no big deal to most, to me it is - I am itching to go for a ride. Who would have thought that would ever happen?

I was never really that into riding the way I am now and it's rough when the days are crappy and I am unable to clip my shoes into the pedals, turn on some good music and just pedal the day away. Not to forget, I just picked up a bunch of new cold weather gear I would like to be able to try out. I suppose I could still ride, but it's a real pain in the rain because of the cleanup of the bike after I get back. I considered it yesterday, taking the mountain bike but never did.

Until tomorrow - have a good one!

Photo: Nice hunk of licorice for a snack today. Not the best thing to munch on when moving much less than normal but we all have weaknesses - today this log of licorice was mine - no regrets! Of course you can see the nose in the photo ready and willing to enjoy the licorice should I choose not to! That's my boy, love you Oggy!
