So it has been raining once again all through the night and all day today, well almost all day. Suddenly around 4:15 in the afternoon the skies opened up and the rain stopped, completely. I don't know what to say about that other than wow, isn't that a bitch? The rain kept everyone inside for the most part and away from their end of the summer fun the entire weekend only to end the weekend at the very last minute with nothing but sunshine and mostly clear skies other than clusters of these big puffy white clouds hanging low to the ground.
The week long motorcycle even that we have at the end of September called Street Vibrations was also totally screwed by the rain as well I am sure. The vendors, motorcyclist and everyone in-between probably stuck to hanging out indoors where it was warm and dry this weekend. This probably helped out the casinos somewhat but did little to help the event.
Even though I am not a fan of the event and do not attend I do think that they need to rethink the idea of having it on the last weekend of September every year, what a stupid idea. I think every single year they have had some kind of bad weather, and generally rain was always a problem. If I was coming from out of town or not I would not come back more than likely - especially if the entire reason for coming was to ride, do poker runs and related and could not do any of it because of the weather. Not only is that a huge waste of money, its a huge downer if you took time off work, etc.
Kiddo's Cold
So I think Zoey is finally feeling a little bit better. Honestly I don't think she even realizes that she has a cold, she is more tired and stuff but her normal self otherwise which is great. I just don't like hearing her wheeze and listen to all the congestion in her chest.
Today I decided to use this device that is called a Nose Fritta. Its a little hard to explain but basically you put one end in the child's nose and the other end in your mouth. You then suck and the snot come out and into the reservoir. I know it sounds super gross and really its not that bad. It's amazon how much you can get out and how much better they feel after. Plus there is a filter in the thing so there is no way you are going to get snot into your mouth by doing it.
Cicely has not been able to do it yet, it grosses her out 100% and that is OK. She is really good with things like the super nasty diapers and does change them 99% of the time so I cant complain. If that is all that I have to do is the occasional snot sucking I am all good with it. Anything to help my kiddo feel better I am happy to do.

Quick Bike Ride
Well the clouds broke and the skies opened up around 5:30 PM so I jumped at the chance to put my cycling gear on, head out to the garage and check tire pressures and take off for a ride. Even though it was damn cold out, my new gear kept me very warm. I do need to get a couple other things and I knew that I would, I just figured I would not need to for a few more weeks.
Anyway, I ended up being able to get in 15.5 miles which was great. Not a crazy long ride and not a quick trip around the block either so I am satisfied. I was getting a little cabin fever wanting to go out and take a spin. I even considered just taking my mountain bike out for a spin since it's not quite as sensitive to the wet roads and stuff.
Problem is, it weights a ton more and with the big tires it would have kicked my ass even on the ride I did today. Maybe another time I will take it out, like when the weather is really crappy - might as well, it has gotten little to no love this summer.
Roll Credits
That will do it for this entry. Honestly I did not think that I would have much to rabble about. It's weird, once you get going it's easy to think of things worth jotting down. Tomorrow is Monday and I start mine off super early with a blood draw to check all of my medicines and verify that everything is working as it should and that I am not over or under medicated on anything.
Yea as you can imagine I am NOT looking forward to it at all, I am a huge pussy when it comes to needles and blood draws or shots. No matter, it will be done before I know it and I will be on my way. If poor little Zoey can get a bunch in her thighs then I need to man up when getting one single poke in my arm for the few draws that are needed.
With that, have a great start to the workweek - I hope that it ends up being a good one for everyone. I know that mine will be a little weird because of the gaming show in Vegas and the lack of people in the studio and those that aer there - keeping them motivated to stay the entire day and more importantly get some work done.
Right now is the perfect time to do so while everyone is gone. Anyway, enough about that - time to hit the hay and call it a night and say goodbye to another weekend that has come and gone.
Have a great week!
