The part that was worrying me the most is that the areas, well several of the areas not all, I go through at least once, sometimes twice on my cycling routes. I have had a couple bites this summer but nothing that I was concerned about. Heck to be perfectly honest I think a lot of us had forgotten about the issues with the mosquito's until we started hearing the helicopters again overhead. Same thing with the disease that sprouted back up over the summer that was pretty much untreatable and took the lives of a few including a doctor that was testing a potential cure. How terrible is that? I mean it's terrible when anyone of any age dies of something like that vs. going out from natural causes but trying to see if a medicine is working only to be taken by the disease he is trying to cure.
Anyway, I could go on for hours about that and I wont. It's a really sad thing when these "bugs" start popping up again around us. Especially when they have been dormant for many, many years. Sometimes I wonder if mining and related stirs up this stuff and brings it back to the top so-to-speak and boom, we are back in an epidemic that was only heard of recently because it was talked about in a health or science class in school, not an actual case of it. Not so much anymore, seems that more and more we are having old diseases come back to haunt us, and the strains are much different or at least different enough that we have to take a lot of time to try and make a new cure.
That Day Again
So as mentioned, today is September 11, 2014 that means that talk about 9/11 will be abundant in conversation, news, social media and everything in between. I honestly feel that people need to just let it go to rest. I realize it's a good idea to keep everyone in your memory and the events that happened in your mind and thoughts but there is a point when you have to move on at least a little bit in a certain way. I know it will ruffle feathers saying such things and that is how it is. I dunno what the solution is, but I don't think a big mall where the buildings once stood is the solution either.
Anyway, I will not get onto that topic, as mentioned it's only going to get me into heated discussions with those passionate about it even if they were not there or lost someone because of the tragedy. I think most jump on the bandwagon to be part of the sadness and related only to do just that; be part of it without really having any equity in the tragedy. To me, that is very unfortunate. No, not that they did not have a tragedy but that they are playing it that way. Okay crap, here I go on a rant that I did not want to go on or even start. I could go on for hours - not gonna!
Time To Blaze
On that note, the day is done for me and I am just waiting for Cicely and Zoey to get back from running errands after work so I too can call it a day. I think today will be a night off from cycling unless I get a wild hair once I am home. Mostly because Friday will be a day off as well more than likely so I can be fresh for whatever ride I decide to do Saturday or Sunday.
Until tomorrow, which is finally Friday - here's to hoping that your day treated you decent and the entire week as well for that matter. Mine has been fair, just busier than expected for one reason or another and there will always be those weeks so you have to take the good with the bad. Tomorrow is a new day and I look forward to it.
Photo: Quick photo walking the long walk into the studio. It's not a big deal when its nice out like today, but when its all rain and snow then it really sucks. Not to mention this is only a very small part of the walk, I usually park way out in the farthest space possible to both protect my car a little bit more as well as get more steps in for the day.
