Allergies
There is something in the air right now because so many people that I know as well as friends and coworkers are either staying home due to the nasty allergies they are dealing with or simply being miserable at work coping with them.
Heck usually they don't really bother me too bad and this morning I even woke up with a bit of a headache and feeling stuffy as though I might be getting a cold. Thankfully a few nose blow sessions and I am feeling better already. The headache is still there but that is in part due to my ride yesterday as well I'm sure.
Fall
Seems fall is in the air for sure already. It's a little bit colder out in the mornings and I am starting to look for things to wear on the bike for the colder rides. Not sure what I want or need exactly so I will have to buy and try a few things and determine what keeps me warmest.
So far I have only ordered arm earners to start. They are the easiest to test and generally an area that gets the coldest on me anyhow. In the end I will need more gear like shoe covers, leg earners and warmer beanies to go under my helmet to keep my noggin toasty.
Heck even if I am in the garage on a trainer most of this will be necessary. On the treadmill I need to bundle up as well most of the time, especially when it is the middle of winter and a "warm day" is when it hits the 30's or 40's out. I am not looking forward to that or wearing jeans everyday. I prefer shorts as much of the year as possible! I used to wear them pretty much all year round and even snowboarding at times. As I get older and colder I have adopted jeans more often.
Demo's Day
Today I have several pre-gaming show demos that I am looking forward to seeing. Other studios have invited us in so we can get an overview of their product line that will be going to our gaming show at the end of the month, start of next month.
Then in my studio we have a couple final demos of games and sign-offs that leadership is required to do. It's nice because I don't get to see the games as much as I use to when in was developing vs. now managing those that develop them day after day.
See-Ya
Alright, I think that is about all for today. It's time to dive back in and focus. Check in on a few emergencies that went on at the end of last week and go from there. Hopefully everything is complete and I don't need to dive into the realm of discipline. Not the most fun part of being in management for sure but a necessary evil to keep things in line.
I hope your Monday treats you fair, or if you are already through with it hopefully everything went as planned. If not just think, you still have 4 more days to get things back on track - hmm, honestly not sure if that is a good or bad thing now that I think about it!
Photo: Tasty grapes Cicely picked up at the store yesterday. I would have thought they would be sour due to their petite size. Instead they are juicy and refreshing with only a hint of flavor that does not overpower the the grape. Almost like something that would be used for wine making possibly?
