School Day, Rush, Rush

Okay today begins with me, Cicely and Zoey running out of the house as fast as we can to get me up to UNR for my second to last class before I graduate from both of the programs that I have been going to for the past year.

Today will be the final class to complete my HR program and then in November, one week before Thanksgiving, I have 2 more legal classes and those will complete the entire management program and I will graduate and receive both plaques at that time.

I could have received one today but I would rather wait and get them at the same time. Not only do I think that will be cool but then I only have to walk up and accept them one time instead of twice. Yea that is the introvert coming out of me right there.

Anyway as I type this entry we are in and out of traffic (Cicely is driving) and going as fast she we can to get me up to campus on-time. I wasp a tad late and so was she so right now it's 8:45 AM, the time I wanted to show up at school. Instead we are not even 1/2 way there.

I begged to get into this class and get to the top of the waiting list and they came through for me. The last thing that I want to do is look like an ungrateful asshole and show up late.

The parking up there is a total nightmare and usually there are a few people that show up late anyhow but they normally set their stuff down to save their seats. I don't want to get shafted into a crappy seat and it's looking more and more like I will based on the amount of traffic this morning and our lack of time, fuck!

Tools

After school today I plan to stop by Home Depot and get a new trimmer for the bushes and evergreen hedges in the front of the house. This time of the year they start to really poke out and get in the way of the sidewalk. It's a total pain in the ass to do honestly.

Evergreens make a real mess when trimmed because they are sappy and stick to the sidewalk, bottoms of shoes, make me smell like one of those car tree air fresheners for a least that day, showering only lightens it.

Back to the Home Depot trip, I am going to get an EGO brand trimmer now to replace my Ryobi one. I like the power of the EGO much better, the length of the trimmer blade much more also. Plus I can use the battery on my mower!

Cycling

So no riding once again today and this is really starting to suck major ass to be 100% honest with you. The smoke is so dam thick in the area from the wildfires in California that there is no way for me to ride. I mean I could but would have a headache from the smoke, have ash in my eyes like Sunday and stink like I rolled around in a campfire all evening.

Instead I will go home and fix the flat tire, maybe do some miles on the treadmill at least to get a little exercise today and then call it a day. Oh and I will more than likely play with my new EGO hedger that I picked up at Home Depot after school.

Speaking of which they had a used one for $179 but WTF? It was the tool only and no battery or charger. Why in the hell would I pay that much for a used one that is missing stuff when I can get a brand new one as I did for $20 more?

I did lay down the $25 for the extended warranty as well just in case since it's a new product on the market - well new brand anyway. So far they are totally robust and kick ass but it's worth the few bucks to safeguard the $200 purchase on something like this.

Class

My class was really good today and went by surprisingly fast. I think that I learned quite a bit more which is good and the point of going after-all isn't it?

So that one is now behind me and I only have the one last class to take just before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Step-Mom

So my step mom's surgery was today and it went really well from what my dad said when he texted me earlier today.

I guess she will be at the hospital overnight and is scheduled for tomorrow to go home. About 6 weeks after she recovers she will go back for another surgery and should be good to go from there forward.

So we are stopping by after work to see how she is doing and hopefully get in we will see. Not sure what room or floor so hopefully it's not a wasted trip. Honestly we are not even sure if it's the right hospital because I went to the one that they were supposed to go to. I was never told her sure exactly which hospital they are at so it's a roll of the dice.
