Today I made the mistake of jerking my arm just a little bit when the lady stuck the needle in so it made it hard for her to get the blood going into the tube. Just my luck isn't it? The guy that does not like to have needles drawing blood almost ends up needing to get poked more than once because of a slight pull back reaction.
Rain Went Away, Finally
So the rain finally stopped yesterday late afternoon as you probably already know if you read yesterdays entry because I went for a nice bike ride. Today I had considered doing the same because I took the day off of work to use up some of my DTO (vacation time - Discretionary Time Off) but ended up doing a ton of yard work and bumming around most of the day.
I think it was time well spent to be honest, I need days where I can just chill out and not think about anything. Cicely needs a few of these days as well, she is always going 100 mph it seems anymore between being mom, wife and designer as well as keeping a full time job.
Home
As mentioned I did a bunch of yard work today. Started off mowing the front yard then doing poop patrol in the back yard before the sun started to go down and make it difficult to see Oggy's presents laying out in the grass.
Once that was done I trimmed all of the bushes with my new EGO hedger and man, that thing works awesome! I mean it should, it cost over $200! But yea, it was worth every penny. I know it only gets used maybe once or twice a year but when you need it that is when you want it to be a kick ass piece of equipment - it fits the bill completely.
Next it was mowing the back and then going back in the front and trimming the evergreen bushes. This is a chore that I cannot stand doing every year. I mean it's not really "that bad" it's more of the clean-up that is a pain in the ass.
No matter it's done now and I can rest easy for the rest of the summer, well the rest of the fall anyway. Next thing I know winter will be here and it will be time to scrape windows every morning before work, shovel the driveway and drive in crappy weather and snow covered roads. Not something I am looking forward to honestly.
Technology
Something has happened that will probably never happen again or rarely if it does. I have had my new iPhone 6 Plus for over 4 days now and I have not set it up yet! Yea, I cant believe it either but I am trying to get everything organized on the old one so I don't have to do a giant transfer to the new one from the old one with photos and crap if they are already in the cloud.
Tonight I may try to get it setup and ready to go it just depends on the amount of time I have available to do so. Simply going through the photos will take me a good few hours possibly and with it already pushing just after 10:00 PM it's not looking good. Hopefully I will have it up and running sooner than later, I am excited to start using it.
There are many that are complaining about the new phones bending if they are in their back pockets and they sit down on them or something. I guess it happens with nearly all phones and not just an iPhone thing but of course everyone will make a big deal out of it just because it's Apple and not Android or Amazon Fire for that matter.
I am not too worried about it, if it bends it bends I don't know what I can really do about it. I guess the iPhone 5 that I have now is known for it as well, maybe the case that is on it helps or prevents it. Watching Cicely use hers is making me want to use mine more an more - they are pretty bad-ass and the new screen on the plus is such a killer size even though it seems big to some, as well as myself because I am simply not use to it. Cicely is use to hers already and loves it, I think I will too!
Pumpkin Patch
So there is a pumpkin patch and corn maze that opens up every year in October and runs the entire month just down the road from us. I need to talk to Cicely about it and see if she wants to take Zoey this year or not? I know that she will not really understand it but we will and it would be cool to show her all of the pumpkins, get some good photos for her to look back on and remember what her very first Halloween was like! More on that later if we decide to go.
Bye For Now
Alright it's back to work for me tomorrow after a nice 4 days off of work. I am secretly happy that it rained a good amount because not only did it save water for the grass and bushes which saves money but it also gave us a good reason to hand out inside and enjoy one-another.
Okay I had better get going and start working on the removal of photos from my phone that are already in the cloud so I don't have to worry about them getting lost. I have photos that go all the way back to before Cicely was pregnant and everything. Don't want to accidentally delete those or the ones of her pregnancy!
Photo: The way that I started my day. Getting a needle stuck in my arm, then the needle was wiggled around, pulled out slightly, pushed back in and wiggled some more - grr! All because I had jerked back a little bit when she poked it into my arm so she missed the vein a tad and had to keep trying until she had a good flow of blood going. Took a few but she finally got it and I was done!
