Time Void

So it appears that weekends are starting to become what are better known as time voids. Basically no idea where the time goes as it shoots by with nothing actually getting done.

Starting early in the morning there are always multiple things on the to-do and wanna-do list for that day. But blink a couple times and the next thing you know it's 2 cups of coffee later, several rabbit holes on the internet and games played on the iPad. Look up at the clock and what do you know it's already 1:00 PM!

Yeah no joke this has pretty much been the scenario every weekend the past 3 or 4. Not to forget the nap that is thrown in around 4:00 on Saturday's. I feel like we are either hitting an early senior level mentality (hell no!) or it's just that we have so much going on during the week lately. So by the time the weekend rolls around it hits us hard and we are mentally drained. Simply staring at a monitor, watching videos or reading is exactly what the brain needs. Unfortunately it uses up the best part of the day when we should be getting stuff done. There will be little to no time to relax once the little one is here with us, at least that is what everyone tells us.

Don't get me wrong I mean we have gotten things done although not as much as I would expect. Especially on a 3 day weekend. Yesterday we pretty much blew the entire day watching movies and that sort of thing only getting a little done for the baby room - but not making the slightest dent.

Knowing me, I am probably stressing out because it's not that far away when we get to finally meet baby Zoey. Way before that time we need to have a place for her to put her head at night. It will all come together I know, I just want it to happen sooner than later so we can enjoy the other stuff of Cicely's pregnancy. Before we know it, it will be nothing but diapers and feeding all hours of the night. Bedtime stories and bubble baths.

Flix

So yesterday, actually last night, one of the movies that we had watched was World War Z. I will be brutally honest and say that I thought the movie was complete crap. Everyone said how great it was and it received a lot of great reviews but you could foresee where it was going the entire time.

At the same time why did nearly everyone that came in contact with the main character have to either die or sacrifice themselves, their country, or what ever just for him. What made him so special to be given first priority on anything and everything he needed? He was pretty much just a normal guy. Not the president or anything.

To top it all off the main character thought it would be a good idea to give one of the characters a pistol. Let's just say this character had probably never held anything more than a pencil or a computer mouse so this was a pretty stupid move and really made no sense or added any value to the story. I mean he was made out to be basically the last scientist on earth that could figure out what was making people turn into crazy zombie like animals.

Not to fear - he did not last long. Almost immediately they show him get spooked, try to run back up the ramp and into the cargo plane, only to trip and fall and shoot himself in the head - this was the icing on the freaking retard cake this movie was serving.

Nothing to worry about though. All of a sudden the main character who is played by Brad Pitt was now the "main man" even more-so. He was able to do anything and everything and survive anything and everything, how stupid.  Then magically he figured out how to cure everyone, not exactly "cure", but make it so the zombie-like infected people would ignore you if you were diseased. A little interesting that crazy zombie mutations have a conscious and do not want to turn those that are ill into crazy ravenous zombie people?

Pure stupidity! That is all I will say about the waste of time also known as World War Z. Well other than if you wanted a review from 1 to 5 stars from me I would have to say -4 and that is being generous. Lucky for us we did not spend the cash to see it at the theater, but on Apple TV so we were only out 5 bucks.

Roll Credits

Well that will do it for today. I need to get outside and build a couple shelves that we purchased last week. One additional for the garage, one of the nice aluminum Craftsman cabinets like I have been putting up while doing the garage overhaul. We also have one additional cubby "cube" style that we are putting in the closet to try and make better use of the space over the shelves.

I hope your weekend is going great! I need to give a shout-out to all my racing buddies out at the annual night race - GOOD LUCK! I hope everyone is safe and the weather stays calm!

Photo: Cake balls that we saw on TV the other night and Cicely "had to have" so we searched all the 7-11's to find them since that is the only store that carries them at the moment. We tried the cookies and Cream flavor as well as a 4 pack of the Red Velvet (shown). I liked them both for different reasons so I cant really pick a favorite.
