Most Forget

So as anyone that lives in the United States knows, today is the day that the planes hit the trade center towers in New York. I can still remember exactly where I was the moment the news went out. I was sitting in a cubicle, not far away from where my current cube is actually. Someone came by my cube and asked if I heard the news. My first comment was that "someone was going to be in deep shxt for that bonehead move".

Little did I know at the time it was much bigger than a mall plane off course essentially nicking the building. Instead it was an event that would stir the nation and introduce things such as the ridiculous TSA, gun laws, background checks, and on and on. It would spark many more wars and manhunts, destroy lives worldwide and we still feel the effects of it all today as though it just happened this year.

Politicians use the even as an engine to promote bullshxt laws into the system by way of fear mo getting and describing it all as a necessity for the people and the safety of our children. To that I say fuck you, how dare you use events on us against us. There is no way the policies we have in place since 9/11 will protect us even an ounce more.

If anything it creates more chaos and confusion which in turn hurts us. What's more is every time some bullshxt hippy law goes into effect, we lose rights that thousands potential ally fought and died to obtained many years prior.

I will leave that subject alone out of respect for those that were unfortunate enough to lose their lives, loved ones and friends during all of the chaos.

I will end by stating that my problem really is that everyone says Never Forget while they generally do except on this day because it's the easy thing to do - post on Facebook or tweet out a quote.

Even more-so these people feel they are better than you or I if they have a flag flying from the car window or a colored rubber bracelet on their wrist that they ever so conveniently picked up for a dollar while in the checkout line.

By remembering and dwelling every year you are pouring salt in the wounds and reliving the events. I have mixed feelings about it being nationalized like a holiday celebration. Basically giving the terrorist more credit for the bullshxt they started many years ago.

There is one thing that i think you should "Never Forget" and that is; it's not a fucking competition people, it's respecting those that never saw 9/12.

Bandages

That will do it for today otherwise I will be on the soapbox spewing my options just like every other asshole today. Enjoy the day the best you can and roll into tomorrow being thankful that we will all get to see many more 9/12's.

Photo: The long walk to the studio entrance. Actually this is only about 1/3 of the total walk. Decided to mess with a B&W in Snapseed for today's image.
