Drab

Today for the most part has been, well, "drab" for lack of better words or description. This morning was really cold and overcast with the wind picking up big-time by 9:00 AM. I was on my second cup of coffee when the pitter patter of rain started bouncing off of the patio, lattice and rooftop making the all familiar sound that is perfectly suited to take a nap during - which by-the-way I did not.

Organization

Instead of taking a nap I decided I better get my ass in gear and start getting shxt out of my office and put away where ever I could find space. Yea, I know we just bought a vault, shed, tons of cabinets and so on but when you have as much crap as I do it's hard to find the perfect spot for everything so it does not become an "out of sight, out of mind" situation.

I worked on it for just over 3 hours and honestly I feel like I did not get anything accomplished. Cicely on the other hand said that she thought I made a ton of progress so that made me feel better. Unfortunately she did not start on her room which means that she probably wont tonight but "possibly" tomorrow if all things are good. It's understandable because she is super tired lately with the pregnancy and does not always have 100% energy to get motivated.

Crib

The problem with this lack of motivation is that we really need to get that room set-up and the furniture we are getting for Zoey put together. Yesterday after work we borrowed dads truck and went down and picked up the new crib. The thing is huge and heavy as well. It's a good thing we borrowed dad's truck because it barely fit in there. Cicely actually had to run over to Wal-Mart (boo) and get us a couple bungee cords so the hard cover dad has on his truck bed would not pop up when going down the highway at 70mph.

Vaseline

I should mention that while driving dads truck is always fun - with the big V8 engine, the stick shift so I can go through the gears on my own rather than the car doing it as I sit back and relax it was still a bit of a pain last night. Main reason, he had one of his weekly arguments with the fuckhead neighbors and the kids that live there decided it was a good idea to smear his car front to back with Vaseline. Everything from the doorhandles to the windows was a slimy mess. They even went as far as to put fucking potatoes in the dual exhaust pipe tips.

This meant we had to wipe off our hands every time after getting in which was kinda gross and a bit of a pain in the ass as well. We also noticed upon backing out of the driveway that it was out of gas as well. Since I had to go fill it up anyway we went ahead and ran it through the car wash to hopefully get some of the Vaseline out of some of the nooks and crannies.

I don't think those little fuck wads have any clue what they started to be perfectly honest. I just hope my pops keeps his cool and does not open up a full-on can of whoop ass on them. Don't get me wrong, the deserve it 110%, but I don't want to see him getting busted for something stupid.

No matter we were able to get Zoey's new crib home safe and sound, get the truck back to dad and go get us some Taco Bell for dinner (which was fucking nasty by-the-way last night). All in all it was a well executed plan because the crib is here in one piece and we are 1 item closer to be prepared for our beautiful daughter to come home.

Dinner

So when we dropped dads truck off they wanted to know if we wanted to go have dinner with them tonight. Honestly we do not feel like it because we have so much shxt to get done and barely got anything done today as it is. But since it is to celebrate my step-mom, Cyndi's birthday we decided to go for it. I guess last week she did not feel very good and so they did not go.

In hindsight we will be happy that we said "yes" to going because it will be fun and heck, we gotta eat dinner right? Problem is that it means I have to keep an eye on the clock all day because we are planning to cut my hair before we go so that, showering etc to get ready as well as getting over there and to the restaurant on time will pretty much eat up the remainder of our Saturday.

Software

I am always looking for the best or at least the most convenient way to handle my photos that I take with my phone. Sure I can back them up and sort them using iPhoto or Instagram, heck even Flickr for that matter. Problem is that none of them are that convenient nor do they all fit a perfect niche like I need. I came across one the other day made by none other than Adobe. It's called Revel and so far it is pretty cool. I will have to mess with it some more and really get it setup to see how I like it in the long run.

At least Adobe gives users 30 days free unlimited uploads of video and photos to try it out. Then if you like it you can either purchase a subscription to it for $60 a year if you pay it all at once otherwise its $5.99/month which is not outrageous at all. If you pay you get unlimited uploads and space. If you go the free route you get 50 uploads a month.

Today is Cicely's brother and sisters (twins) birthdays. They are 19 years old today, that is crazy when I sit back and think about it. They were so dam young when Cicely and I first met. I guess that means so were we right? Actually I know we were because when I look at some of the old photos it blows me away how young we looked - problem is that I still feel as though I do today, nope!

Check Please

I think that will have to do it for this entry today. I need to try and take a nap for 1/2 hour or so if at all possible before we cut my hair and get ready to head over to dads house to go have dinner. I am looking forward to the dinner, we have not eaten at this particular restaurant for over a year and we like it a lot. I guess there is a chance we may go to our usual steakhouse in Sparks though as well. It's entirely up to my step-mom Cyndi since it's her birthday dinner. I love both of those choices so I will be a crappy hamper no matter the decision. Until tomorrow.....

Photo: Adobe Revel logo. So far a great application. I will have to put it through the tests in the next week or so and determine if it will work for me as far as sharing photos and video via social media and possibly with friends and family as well. This will be extremely important when we welcome our new addition into the family in March!
