Anti-Climactic End

So Monday is back upon us and the week is going full speed already. I thought, well hoped actually that because so many peeps in my studio would be at the gaming show that it would be quiet. Not so much the case, mostly because nearly everyone in my current game chose to not go this year. Yea that us about par for the course lately with this project.

Finale

Ok if you did not watch the last episode of Dexter last night then don't read any further. I don't plan to go into detail about it but will say just enough that you will be able to figure it out I think.

For those of you that stuck around and watch the finale I am wondering if you are with me when I say that it was a little anti-climactic and many parts of the episode were easy to figure out where they were heading.

Dex tossing Deb into the ocean was a little bit of a surprise, but him taking her life so she does not end up a vegetable the rest of her life was a pretty obvious outcome based on his mannerisms during it all.

Then when he was leaving Harrison with Hannah, telling him he lives him and Harrison saying how much he loved Hannah and Dexter led me to believe that she would become his primary adult in his life which she did. I think he will end up having a fucked up life. His mom being murdered in the tub, his dad being a serial killer and now him thinking his dad is dead while he now lives with a killer of another kind - nuts!

In the end with Dex driving off into the storm and the search team finding parts of his boat was weird. Then for the show to feel like it was going to roll the credits only to show Dex in his new life, working at some logging company in the middle of who knows where was strange.

His reasoning was understandable - that everyone he gets close to dies, it's true but still a very weird way to protect his son and Hannah when all of this started because of this plan to be normal. He can never be normal so that is why Hannah was the perfect fit. Ahh, oh well it's over now so it will be interesting to see what the rest of the internet thinks about the final episode last night.

My Ending

So I have to say that I can think if a much better way to have ended the show. Here is the short version of it: Have Deb take Dex, Hannah and Harrison to a boat in the shipping yard. They get tricked and caught by the killer from this season and he has a plan for them. Since he knows so much about Dexter's life thanks to his mother being the main creator of "The Code" it's like taking candy from a baby.

Miami metro gets an anonymous tip (from the killer) that they are all missing, planned to leave the country when this anonymous tip leads them right to Dexter's boat in the area. They start a search of all the shipping crates only to eventually open one that matches a very familiar one in Dexter's life.

When they open it they are stunned to find Deb, Hannah and Dex all murdered - sitting in their own pools of blood, with Harrison sitting Indian style facing them, in a pool of blood from all of them bleeding out. Symbolic to the way that Dexter's life began and essentially starting the cycle again, this time with Harrison, with mixed anger and code because of the 3 of them.

I dunno I think my ending is much better and leaves opportunity for a spin-off show titled "Harrison". But it is what it is and it's over now. Although I would appreciate it if writers would start letting me look over series finales k? I have some amazing input for them to feed off of after-all.

Breaking Bad on the other hand was awesome and 75 minutes long - woot!. Next Sunday is the final episode and should be a great one. I have a feeling it will be Walter coming forward, then asking for one last cigarette. It will contain the poison he stashed in his house in the wall socket and he will take his own life, setting his family free in return and hopefully letting them know where the money is. Although one other important fact is that he REALLY needs to get rid of that family that killed his brother in law. Who knows, maybe it will end up being Jesse that kills him.

Seven

One thing I feel necessary to mention is that I was able to use a feature in iOS 7 today that I have been wanting / waiting for, for a very long time. That being the ability to block certain callers. Especially and namely those fucking telemarketers. I know that they change their numbers all the time so it will be chasing a moving target, but so long as there is no limit to the amount of blocked numbers I plan to continue to add them to the "go fuck yourself" list. Thanks Apple!

That's All Folks

That does it for me. Time to dive back into work and get some shxt done. Planning on this week being a productive one so let's see how the plan works out for me. I still need to find a photo of the day for today too. As easy as that sounds, it can be a real pain-in-the-ass some days. Yea, yea I know - boo-hew, first world problems!

Photo: Not a bad cardio session for a Monday! Anything over 350 calories on the elliptical I am pretty happy with though. Of course I had to mess with it a little in Snapseed.
