1400 LBS Of Safety

Yesterday was a pretty crazy day for some reason. Really nothing crazy in the form of excitement that would knock someone off their chair but more along the lines of "where the hell did the day go". I remember getting to work, then hitting the gym a few hours later and the next thing I knew we were heading over to moms to make her some dinner and check in on her.

That all flew by and wham, we were back at home making some dinner and doing all of the nightly things that have to be taken care of. Once completed it was on to Netflix to watch a couple episodes of Battlestar Galactica. Which by the way is still great, unfortunately nearly over now. I think we have around 5 episodes left at this point - sux!

We did watch the season opener of Sons of Anarchy on Tuesday and that was pretty good. Not the best season so far in my opinion. And as my dad put it, sort of political and just different. Yes I plan to stick with it. Heck even Dexter & Suits have been different. Maybe it's because they are ending we view them differently? Actually I dunno if Suits is ending I can't remember.

Breaking Bad has still been great and the way last weeks episode ended was crazy. Made me feel angry, then happy then sad all within the final 10 minutes of the episode. Awesome when they can write story lines like that.

Vault

So in other news I am excited to report that I finally am the proud owner of a brand spanking new gun safe / vault. I ended up going with the American Security brand, commonly known as AMSEC. It is a really nice safe and I could not be happier with it. I will say, the install was a little scary because the thing weighs in at just under 1400 lbs! On top of that it is bolted through the concrete slab with several 3/8" bolts so it is not going anywhere.

I will be adding a light kit on my own and plan to hook up the dehumidifier around the same time. I need to have an electrician come out and run power to that side of the wall though but that is no big deal to have done.

Anyway, I am super happy with it and am glad I am finally able to own one. All of our valuables and weapons will now be even more safe and sound.
