Blue Skies

So we are breaking the seal on a brand new week and I am happy to report that I not only had a good nights sleep but there is nearly no smoke in the valley for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. I heard on the radio this morning that the Yosemite fire was 80% contained so that is great news. It's amazing that it has taken so long though.

I'm not certain if its because of the size of the fire or if its because of rules in that park - meaning certain areas are not to be messed with when burning and so on. I heard rumor about something like that but honestly have no clue if its legit.

Survey Says

So this morning we start the week off with a meeting to review the annual results of my companies employee opinion survey. We will discuss the results, the action items that management will create to attempt to resolve or at the very least improve upon the areas that need attention.

Overall the results were not very good this year from what I have heard so far. This tells me that people are simply unhappy with some of the changes or did not completely understand some of the questions. They can be a little hard to follow to be perfectly honest. They refer to management for example which means direct reports, although it can easily be interpreted as higher up management and your opinion may be much different depending on the context, your mood that day and so on.

Alright that will do it for today. I have a lot to get done (don't I always) and I don't want to be spending late nights at work this week again. It's not fair to my prego better half either.
