Surprise Late Visit

So we all made it to Friday and I don't know about your week but mine has proved to once again be non-stop and I am beat! Granted I am getting a lot done but it's till kicking my ass in a big way.

Dad & Cyndi

So my dad and step-mom stopped by late last night once we were home from work to drop-off a really cool canvas photo they had done of Cicely and I from our wedding photos. It turned out friggin' amazing and we can't thank them enough for it.

My dad has been cleaning out their storage shed the past few weeks and came across some of my old stuff that I made or had when I was younger. The one item he found and brought over was a tuner for a violin from back in the day when I was playing and taking private lessons.

It's funny how we look back and wish we would have stuck with certain things. But as kids our minds are future forward in other ways and so we find things like music lessons to be uncool or unimportant while later in life we want to dive into it as it is now cool.

My dad also brought me over a hammer that I made out of a single piece of metal. I created it in metal shop using a lathe and various other tools. I loved that class and could have stayed in there all day making things, welding and so on. It's cool that my dad saved it. I guess he still has a toolbox that I made as well. I did a lot of woodworking also but only have this awesome cutting board to show for that class.

I look forward to the day that I have a son or daughter bringing Cicely and I home all sorts of creations. I just have to remind myself to hang on to it all as my parents did, ok most of it anyway for them. These things may not mean a lot to them in their angry rebellious teen years but later in life it will have quite a different meaning and they will appreciate it as I did last night sharing the memories again as well as telling Cicely how I created them and so on.

Thanks for that Dad, that was really cool and a lot of fun! I plan to hang on to them for the long run as well and possibly pass it on to my own kiddo one day.

Of course the goodies did not stop there. Pops also managed to find a blade for the radial arm saw he gave me. Seems pretty basic I know but this particular blade is like trying to find a needle in a haystack I guess and super expensive as far as blades go. I can't wait to start cutting stuff with it, hopefully this weekend. If not then when we take a few days off for our studio move days I will do some serious cutting and start getting the shed in order.

Gun Rights

So today I am doing something that I would normally not do. I am going to change my Facebook avatar from my mug to something I feel very strongly about. The second amendment rights we all have. I am using it in the same way that the gay community has used the equality symbolism, only instead of the 2 dashes that make up an equal sign, mine are 2 AR15's.

I am almost certain I will piss off a few people and probably lose a few friends - but it's time to not give a shxt and just be who I am rather than sit back and watch all of the hippies babble about their agenda's. I have no real reason for talking about my decision here, but it does worry me a little that there will be some backlash and I will have to defend my choice of avatar - in reality I should not have to.

Exit

It's time to turn on my blogger blinker, merge right and exit this entry. Tons of content to go through today for my game and tasks to attend to with what is left of the working hours. I have high hopes of doing some simulator helicopter flying tonight or this weekend along with a little low end bass playing to freshen my outlook on all things that are otherwise seemingly scripted week-to-week as they become what is usual and normal.

Have a great Friday day if you you are heading out tonight don't make me kick your ass because you went out, got shxt faced and drove home. Lets make it a no drunk driving Friday! Trust me, it's much less expensive in every way to call a friend or a cab - so do it.
