Nappin' & Relaxin'

So it is of course Saturday and it was not much of a partying Friday night for Cicely and I. not that it ever is most weeks but especially this one. We were totally exhausted from the busy and stressful workweek and late nights working on projects.

This meant we were in bed and out like a light by 11:00 PM or so. Not bad but not a crazy night out with friends bar hopping that's for sure. We were supposed to go to a concert with friends so it's actually a good thing that we decided to skip it this time around.

It was crazy windy early in the morning and I cannot stand the friggin' wind. Thankfully it did not really start slamming against the windows and rattling the house until closer to noon. This was the perfect excuse to hang out indoors for the day and relax.

Napping

Anyone that knows me understands that I am not one of those people that take naps on the weekend. It feels as though the day has shot by when you do, and it makes the day feel wasted to me. Well even after the "early" to bed early to rise mentality I had on Friday, I still managed to sleep-in until 8:00 this morning, get up and have some coffee and proceed to get a few things done around the house.

Cicely got up and moving and made us a killer breakfast and about 45 minutes after eating mine it was prime time to take a nap. Felt great and did not wake up with a headache as I usually do after the occasional nap and only "wasted" about an hour and a half.

Got up and watched the NASCAR race in Texas and played some bass. I am trying to learn this little jazzy riff that is a ton of fun to play. it's nothing super technical, just a little bit of jumping around but you stay in a bit of a "box" as far as your fingering goes, but it sounds a lot bigger and creative.

I am unable to play it as fast as I need and want to at this point, but that will come with time. I mean I had just learned it today and only practiced it about 5 to 8 times before taking a break to let my fingers and wrists stretch and rest a little. I will have to keep working on that one I think, loads of fun!

BBQ

So to continue with our Southern summer heat-wave type of day we decided to run down to a new BBQ place and get some dinner. Much easier than going to the store, getting all of the sides and then firing up the pit. Lets just hope that it tastes as good as a BBQ dinner that Cicely and I would have made.

Digestion

On that note its time to focus on dinner, the new Episode of Doctor Who tonight and maybe an episode of Eureka if time permits and we are not crashed out by 11:00 PM again. My hope is that my mid-day nap will prove worthwhile and we can stay up a little later. Heck during the week it always seems easy to stay up later than we should be.

This week is our week to pack up our cubes and get ready for the move to the South side of the building. I am not looking forward to moving but once it's done it will be better I think over-all.

On the bright-side we are taking the week after off since it will be mostly downtime and team building activities. We would rather take it off at a time we won't get behind on our projects. Anyway, more on that this week.
