Free Day

Great day today! Slept-in a little this morning after staying up a little late last night watching a few more episodes of Eureka on Netflix. Great show and we still have a few seasons left which is awesome, well more-so if they were still filming new episodes.

Free Day

Off work today because they are having movers come in and put all of our shxt in storage until the end of the month while they rebuild our cube farm on the south side of the studio.

So we hung around the house most of the morning, had some breakfast that Cicely made for us and relaxed a little bit. What a great way to spend a Friday morning with my wife and fuzzy kid.

Early afternoon we had to run some errands, well Cicely did to drop off a cool custom necklace she made that looks like graffiti and says "Suspense". We met her friend / customer downtown at Starbucks which meant I was going to be bad and enjoy an iced mocha chip drink.

While out we decided it was as good of a time as any to cruise over to RC Willey and see if we can find an end table and lamp to finish off the living room project we started a month or so back. Hopefully we find something we like and are able to take them home today.

Boom

Big explosion and many lost there lives yesterday. I mean no disrespect to those in Texas due to the fertilizer plant blowing up. So crazy if you ask me, not to mention that the shockwave flattened a bunch of buildings much further away from the factory as well.

I did not read it first-hand but someone was telling me that the explosion happened a second time, and the biggest of the booms due to firefighters using the wrong chemical or only water and no chemical which inadvertently set-off another explosion or simply fueled the current one.

It's really sad to hear stuff like this because the media loves it. They freak out and think "oh great the next big thing"! Thankfully they have not yet blamed it on some young gun toting individual as they generally try to do. But the keyword is "yet", they seem to always swing the news that direction.

CIPSA Act

So I am told that while everyone was caught up in the news of the bombings in Boston, the explosion in Texas from the fertilizer factory, the gun bill failing (woot!), and related current events everyone missed the fact that the CIPSA act went through the first stages of approval.

More appropriately known as the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act". It would be more appropriate to name it the bullshxt act. It is so deep and there are so many things that the government wants to try to control as well as big business. It is scary for anyone into digital media and users of any media type today and beyond. I sure hope it goes nowhere.

Anyway

I think that is about all for this entry. Lots of daylight left and relaxation to enjoy away from the office. Tomorrow we have a lawn guy coming out to aerate and I need to get started on filling up the storage shed. I would like to paint the garage as well this coming week if I can get it cleared out so we will see how it goes and if time permits.

Success

So I am super stoked to report that our trip to RC Willey was a total success! We were able to get a new rug for the floor that we have been wanting, a new end table that was normally just under $400 we got for $79 because it had a small scratch on the top of it (big whoop). We also got our lamp and our new dining room set we have been wanting for a few months.

We took the end table and lamp home today and the rug and dining set will be delivered on Wednesday (for free of course). Super stoked, now we just have to get our bedroom dressers and before years-end my new Fort Knox or Liberty safe.

Otherwise

Happy Friday to everyone and as I say every Friday - if you are going out to party have a blast and get crazy / let loose. Just don't be a dumb-ass and drive drunk! The person or persons you kill does not deserve to be the victim of your stupidity.
