Storms Coming

It's Saturday, and the weather guessers still think that it's going to rain enough to start flooding the valley tomorrow. I am not sure if I believe it although it's been really windy all day so maybe something is coming, but is it enough to flood the area?

As I mentioned ranted about before, I worry that they're going to screw themselves if no bad weather shows up as big as they are making it out to be. Otherwise at some point people are going to start to ignore their warnings just like the old fairytale about crying wolf.

Groceries

Today I didn't do whole lot of anything. Mostly I hung out at home and later in the afternoon went down to Raley's to do some grocery shopping so Cicely would not have to deal with it after her long weekend at the craft fair. I figured it was the right thing to do since she does so much shxt for us every week.

The bad part about me going to the store is that I spent probably $150 more than she would have and ended up with about 25% less groceries than she would have spending the same amount of money. She knows what she needs to get so she gets in the store and gets out I like to buy other stuff and venture from my list. Makes it really easy to go way over budget.

The Blues

With Cicely in downtown Sparks all day at her craft show Oggy and I had the house all to ourselves from around 9 o'clock this morning. So I took this opportunity to mess with my harmonica and make a lot of noise and not drive her crazy. She is generally not easily annoyed when I am messing with some new toy, whether it is an engine in the garage or an instrument in the house she is happy if I am happy tinkering.

Anyway, I am currently trying to learn different variations of the 12 bar blues. It seems pretty easy when you hear someone else play it, but to hit the notes just right it's much harder than you would think. I am getting there though, slowly but surely, or maybe I'm just getting used to bad playing starting to sound good? No matter, in my book, that's still considered progress!

Cicely should be home around 6 or 7 o'clock tonight but we don't have any big plans. Probably just kick back and rent a movie from AppleTV or see what is on cable and NetFlix. It just depends how she feels, I imagine she's going to be hungry and tired.

Toy Envy

I was considering, once again, going down to Best Buy and picking myself up a black iPad Mini 32 GB Wi-Fi but I just can't seem to justify spending the money on it. No matter, I usually end up buying toys whether I need them or not. It's just fun to mess around with new stuff.

I also am planning to get one of the new Amazon Kindle Paperwhites. They're actually really cool, I was looking at one after Thanksgiving because my step-mom, Cyndi has one of the original Kindles and was showing it to me, so I was geeking-out over it after dinner. I would like to start reading more because I have a ton of books on my "to read" list and I am always falling behind. Problem is, the full size iPad's I own just cut it for reading not to mention the fact you have to be in a dark room for the most part because of the screen. The iPad Mini might be a nice choice for reading if I ignored the fact that it will have the screen glare problem as well and I would get the non 3G or 4G version which kinda sucks. On top of it there's not as many books on iBooks as there is on the Amazon book store so I'm really not 100% sure what I will do. Knowing me I will get 'em both - like I said before, I love me some tech".

Good Bye Everyday

One thing I will say is that now that it is December I will FINALLY be done taking my "everyday" picture in about a month which makes it 365 photos in a row. It seemed like such a simple, yet great idea when I started it but it's much more of a pain in the ass than I thought it would be to try and remember to take a photo every single day. Yes the application reminds me 2 times a day to be sure I have taken my photo but its easy to ignore and forget, luckily I have not. I am happy I have managed to make it every day though, woo hoo! I am not a resolution person in the least, I usually do them for the hell of it with things like the daily photo or when I decided I would do 365 days of cardio and not miss a single day no matter the situation or location. Yea another bad idea, I accomplished the goal but not without some literal blood, sweat and tears all of which I wont take the time to go into the details on, maybe some other time.

Back to the everyday photo; The funny part is, I have looked at some of it compiled into video shots and honestly I don't look that much different day to day as I thought I would, I guess that is a good thing? Maybe part of it could be that I did not take the photo in the exact same spot every day, I thought that would simply add more complexity to the task Although some of the daily shots that I have seen other people do it seemed to help to have them in the same spot as well as centering your head in the same position. I tried it, but its a pain in the ass to be blunt so I stopped doing the centering after about a week. Oh well, it was fun but I don't think I'll ever do it again.

'Bout It

So I think that is it for today. Not a whole lot of stuff going on, just a chill day. I actually enjoy this kind of day although I will admit that the house is really quiet without Cicely here making a raucous along side me. Maybe something will come up tomorrow to lay the foundation for a more interesting read? If not, that's ok too.
