Media
While at the gym today, doing my cardio session on the elliptical I could not help but to divert my attention to CNN's lower third. They were using this real-estate as they normally do, scrolling the highlight news of the day. The problem is, 90% of it was related to the shootings which does nothing short of blow me away to see how people are reacting ignorantly. Blaming all of us honest, good standing, U.S. citizen, gun owners and enthusiast. Portraying us as they would the KKK or terrorist of sorts. When in reality all they are doing is using this as a means to an end to hammer another nail into the gun ban and gun control coffin.
There were several reports that cable TV networks such as The Discovery Channel will be removing shows from their network that are gun related or exceedingly violent in nature. Other networks are taking off anything that may be upsetting to children and make them sad during the holiday season. I mean come-the-fuck-on people, really? Yea go ahead and read into this as me not giving a shxt or understanding because just like your views on firearms, you would be misspoken and incorrect.
I watched an interesting video on YouTube that explained a lot as well and not just because I chose to own guns and it makes sense to me. Unlike most of the sheeple out there, I actually do listen to both sides and draw from each rather than deem everything as black or white in nature.
Anyway, the video was also talking about how WalMart and other stores are removing anything automatic rifle related from their stores. How Apple feels terrible about all of this and supports gun bans (and I really like Apple's products, but come on you stupid fucks!).
As mentioned in the video, both Apple and WalMart are notorious for slave labor wages and sweat shop working conditions. Apple for example is said to have suicide nets outside of factories and so on. Yet in the West these big corporations smile with their bleached teeth and shed a tear for the tragedy, not unlike our puppet leader you re-elected for another term. All pretending to stand for something, united. Wow, this shxt just blows me away. Its horrible, I have said it countless times but its also being horrifically blown out of proportion and most of the tear shedding is going to be replaced with regret should our rights slowly be stripped from away. Just you wait, nah most are too naive to see the writing on the wall I think.
Whether you like, tolerate or hate people like the guy in the video (Alex Jones - InfoWars) it's hard to be an intelligent individual without seeing his side of things. Yea some of these guys are crazy as shxt with their views, I admit that as well, but he makes a lot of good points.
Oh and if you don't like it, don't watch it! It's your choice - see how that works? Well for now anyway it's your choice. That is until someone does not like something you like, or does not understand it and it becomes easier to just take it away and hide it in the back of the cupboard, yea that makes a whole lot of sense. Go on, roll your eyes ya' fuckin' hippy!
They're Coming For Our Guns
No Pressure, No Problems
Ok enough about the doom and gloom. Everyone blowing the news out of proportion is doing nothing more than giving it energy that it does not deserve and it is a waste of my time and yours.
So to lighten things up a little I decided to post a photo that I forgot I had on my iPhone of this guy we came across while in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
I could not believe how long his dreadlocks were and had to take a second look back to verify what I had just seen. Once verified I had to get a photo of this long-ass dreadlock pony tail. I have to say that it was not easy either and that this photo was total luck of the draw as I sort of aimed my iPhone in the general direction and clicked off a shot before the tour bus turned the corner.
Why did I not just take a moment and snap the shot? First off, I was in an open air tour bus winding around corners (no doors) so you really had to pay attention and move with the road as to not fall off of the slippery, lacquered, wood bench seat. Second, I think he must have people taking photos of him all the time and it probably gets annoying, or maybe he usually charges for them - cant blame him if so, I would have given him a few bucks, no problem. I mean that is some serious dedication in my book. If we would have stopped I would have asked for permission and talked to him for a few minutes. I actually had a bunch of questions running through my head the moment I saw him.
Unfortunately, I was unable to ask permission, nor was I able to take some time and talk to him. My reason for feeling justified to take the photo was that he looked at me, looking back at him in amazement - we made eye contact, he then paused for only just a moment in a profile position, as to say "now is your chance mon", I snapped a shot, and I have to say that I lucked out - big time. He glanced back and me and went on his way. Cool!
I don't know how in the world you can have hair this long. It has to weight a ton. How do you keep it clean or move it out of the way when its time to take a dump? Not to mention it has to drag on the ground all over the place so its gotta get nasty and ratty on the tip. Does he have to have his wife or someone put the rubber bands on, does he carry extra's in case a few snap throughout the day? Man, I had so many questions for him. Yea, in hindsight maybe it was best we did not get to chat.
I dunno, maybe that is the great thing about living on a small island, you just do what-ever and after awhile it becomes your normal to everyone else. Well, except for us looky-loo tourists.
No matter, THANK YOU dreadlock man for the photo opportunity, much appreciated. I don't think anyone would have believed just how long your hair was had I not had the evidence to show them, its just too bad I did not get your name or have the chance to
