Relaxing and getting ready to get back to work is the theme for today. It's amazing how fast the last day of any vacation or long weekend seems to go by.
Probably not only us, but I think everyone tends to put off all the crummy stuff till the last minute. Things like doing laundry, going to the grocery store, and that type of chore are no fun smack dab in the middle of a long weekend so we tend to put them off until the last minute.
For us this means things like actually going to the grocery store, doing laundry, cleaning up the house and usual getting ready for the week tasks is on our list of "fun" activities.
More Snow
So last night around 4 a.m. Oggy woke us up from obsessively licking his belly which almost always means that he is not feeling well. About 5 minutes into the "lick-fest" it led to him throwing up several times.
The poor guy had to go outside in the snow and throw-up and go poop to try and feel better. He is such a good boy, he always gets up and runs outside to poop or puke. At the very least he will run to a tile or linoleum covered floor so he is not puking on the carpet. I am not sure if this is because he does not want us to have to clean the carpet? Or, more likely it's because he does not want us to bring out the Bissell "Little Green" carpet cleaner. To him carpet cleaners are just as scary as vacuum sweepers.
It's really cute that he runs outside but really sad at the same time. Luckily for us, and him, he was feeling much better by this morning and actually shortly after he went outside to relieve himself he was already much better. I hate when he feels like that because you don't know what to do to help him since they cannot tell us what's wrong. Poor fuzzy kids! So we just rub his belly and comfort him until he starts feeling better, just like we would with a non-K9 kid.
Anyway, we had no idea that it snowed again because it was doing absolutely nothing when we went to bed around 1:00 a.m. It ended up amounting to about 3 to 3 1/2 more inches of fresh snow by the time we got up today. All-in-all we have gotten 6 to 9 inches total this past week in the valley. I have no idea how many feet they got in the hills, probably 6 to 12 if i had to guess. Luckily the sun has come out every day after and melted it down a good amount in the valley, this helps with getting around town.
Unfortunately for us the way that our house and more importantly the driveway faces it does not melt from the sun like most our neighbors across the street. We pretty much always have to shovel unless it's just a light dusting, which it rarely, if ever is. "So it looks like we will be shoveling more snow today", was our final thought before heading back to a warm bed this morning.
Snowblower
So around 11 o'clock when the snow finally stopped falling, we decided to head out and clear the driveway and patio. Since it was deep enough I was able to pull out the snowblower again, woo-hoo! Makes snow removal so much more fun!
In addition, because using the snowblower saves us so much time, I went ahead and cleared the sidewalk all the way down about 4 houses and all the way up to the community mailboxes.
Then on the way back home my neighbor was opening his garage door and getting ready to shovel his driveway. So I asked him if he wanted me to snow-blow his driveway as well? I'll let you guess what his answer was. (Hint, it wasn't no)
Our snowblower is a smaller 4-stroke Toro and because of this it does not use hardly any fuel, so it's nice to be able to help out neighbors. I still would even if it did use a lot of fuel though to be honest.
It helps me out a ton since my back is always fucked up. It's awesome to be able to go out and clear the driveway in about 15 minutes when it used to take anywhere from 45 minutes up to 2 hours depending on how much of the white shxt fell.
Warehouse 13
Since we were able to clear the snow so quickly our reward was that we had extra time to watch a few episodes of Warehouse 13, Woot! As I have mentioned a bunch before, the show is really awesome. We are on the 3rd season and I'm going to be really bummed when it's over because the 4th season is only available on iTunes and not Netflix so it will cost around $35 to rent the season. Worth it, but we already pay for cable and Netflix so that would be preferred.
I am sure it will eventually be out on Netflix or on cable, I just don't know if we can wait that long. Plus I don't want to do the other option and torrent it and take the risk of getting busted, not worth saving $35. I have several friends at work that watch Fringe and other shows like this so it's possible they have it on DVD or digitally which would be cool because i could borrow it. No matter, we plan to plow through more of this 3rd season today.
Outta Here
Once again I think that does it for today. I wanted to fly my AR.Drone some more, but the weather is still obviously crappy. Flying in the garage is always an option but it only allows for so much learning and outside I run the risk of getting it wet.
Yesterday I was lucky that I did not crash into anything in the garage. It's pretty easy to fly but it's also pretty easy to crash like most aircraft that is remote-control so I don't want to screw it up before my first flight out in open air. Not to mention it's colder than a witches tit in a brass bra in the garage so that just takes away from the experience!
