Today has been pretty uneventful for the most part. I have pretty much hung out at home, played with Oggy or drank coffee while trying to stay warm in front of the fire.
Solitaire Golf
One thing that I did today was spend a bunch of time playing this new game called "Fairway Solitaire" HD on my iPad. My dad was showing it to me the other night when Cicely and I stopped by the house to get some of his awesome homemade soup he cooked up earlier in the day.
A solitaire golf game did not seem like something I would be interested in and honestly I did not think I would play it that much so I did not download it. Then on Friday, Cicely was playing some game that kept grabbing my attention and low and behold it was Fairway Solitaire HD. She was having a blast with it so yea, I downloaded it yesterday and have played the hell out of it today.
Admittedly; Cicely, my dad as well as my step-mom were 100% correct in saying that I would like playing it, it is a really fun, addicting game. Although it is making it very apparent that my solitaire skills need some serious work. Thankfully they allow one "mulligan" per hole, otherwise I would be doomed right away. If you are not familiar with the term mulligan, just think of it as a do-over.
Whats-more is that it is also a free game which is really surprising based on how well it's made. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of free games out there that are well made but the problem is they have an annoying tendency to nag you to buy in-app purchases etc.
I bit the bullet and paid the $2.99 for the full version and have no regrets. Basically you are given more courses as well as a bonus amount of "Gopher Bucks" after finalizing your purchase. Gopher Bucks are the currency that you can spend on items in the game. You can purchase additional gopher bucks for real money as well, but nowhere does it nag you to do so like many other games. Without purchasing any you can still have a good time in the game because they give you plenty to buy power ups and related as you progress.
All of that aside with the free version you get a lot of content and game-play. I was really surprised because the game has so much depth. I know that they put a lot of work into it so I could not resist paying a measly $2.99 for a great game. This is by no means meant to be review of the game, if so it sucked I think. It's just a little detail on how I spent part of my day.
Fixin' Ta Get Er Done
The photo today is dedicated to all of us rednecks who own firearms. According to the media the only people that bear arms are rednecks, ex-cons or gangs.
So I figured that it was only appropriate to fill them up and toast the politicians with the redneck wine glasses we bought at Scheels Outdoor Store yesterday. They are actually really cool, and it's a lot of fun to be goofy with stuff like this. We picked up a few for family as well, we figured they would also get a kick out of them.
Snow
So today, once again, the weather guessers were actually accurate. Most of the day it was either snowing a little bit or raining really friggin' hard.
Not much snow stuck down in the valley for any length of time once again and I am really glad because I do not feel like shoveling snow. Not to mention we have to go to work tomorrow which means a long commute if there is a decent accumulation of snow on the roads. I guess there still could be tomorrow morning when we wake up so we will see.
Once at work I am actually hoping for a short day. Once I get a bunch of shxt done that I have on my plate, then later in the mooring or early afternoon give my nephew and his girlfriend a tour of the studio I will be ready to get my ass out of there and get over to dad's house for Christmas eve dinner, woot!
'Bout All
Well, I think that is it for today. I really didn't have a whole lot to write about but I wanted to show-off the cool glasses that we picked up.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day to follow. Yea captain obvious I know. It's just that I am looking forward to some time off again before the new year is in full force.
