Gun Show

So today was our end of the year, pre-Christmas, gun show, and I was worried there was going to be protesters and other people that were generally pissed-off that there would be a gun show going on after the tragedy that took place in Connecticut. Nope, not a single one in sight. Pleasantly surprised I humbly admit.

Second Amendment

As mentioned, and to my surprise, at the entrance there was nothing more than lines of law abiding citizens paying a small admission to get into the show. Wow, the place was like a soap filled bath, hippy-free, Thank you!

I will be the first to admit that this show did have more in attendance than I have seen at any other show in years past. I don't know if it's because of the holiday season or because of the laws that may pass the first part of 2013?

No matter, it was great to see so many people attending. From the young and old, both male and female and every race there-in. All enjoying their right to look at firearms, hold firearms and purchase firearms responsibly and legally, go-figure. Do you want to know the craziest part? Not a single person was killed, yes even with all of those guns and ammunition in one room! The hippies would never believe that shxt.

Before you ask, no I did not walk out of the show with any new toys. I did buy a few small accessories that I have been wanting for quite some time, but no new firearms although admittedly many were very tempting, more from a collecting standpoint and because of their "cool factor", I managed to resist somehow this trip. The crazy part, not really, is that the prices are insane now because of everyone being scared there will be a ban on many of the more popular firearms in the coming year.

Fearless Leader

Zombies were a really popular theme once again, as they always are, no not because people are crazy and completely believe in zombies, it just makes light of it and makes it fun. I get a kick out of it too, I am a Walking Dead fan ya' know.

The one thing that stood out like a sore thumb was the Obama merchandise. Sure a lot of it was skewed negative, after-all he is trying to take away our rights and you shouldn't let people fuck with the constitution. Don't get me wrong it was all responsibly done and tasteful. No targets or related with him on it so don't go making assumptions. He is still our leader and while I don't have to like him I will respect the position he holds as he is only one puppet in the show.

That is where today's photo comes from. An artist at the show painted it and I thought it was pretty cool. Call me crazy but the dinosaur politician fucks are trying to change people's livelihood as well as our rights so he/she is simply expressing that right while they still can, its prolly next on the list to go bye-bye. Don't forget, rules like this are only to satisfy the minority, while using "the children" as puppets on political strings. Who can blame an artist for expressing feelings in this manner? Not I!

Weather

Well what do you know? The weather guessers were actually accurate this time! Today we had snow and most of it stuck for a decent part of the day, wow! Gold stars all around!

Sure most of it has melted or turned to ice now that it's below freezing this evening. I am just surprised that it actually snowed. It's the first time this year and it's almost the end of December. The ski resorts have to be hurting again this season, its pretty much mid-season for them at this point, sucks!

Needless to say, most drivers (my guess would be that the majority are California transplants), all with their their asses puckered-up tight because of the white stuff floating around. It always amazes me how scared stupid people get.

Whenever there is snow on the ground, ice, rain, cats and dogs or whatever all you need to do is drive a little slower and pay a little more attention to what you're doing instead of what's on the radio, where you're going to go get your latte, or which of your your kids crapped themselves, how fucking hard is that? Yeah I know I am asking a lot, it's a bad habit.

Otherwise

Today was actually a pretty average day otherwise. It was really nice to see the snow coming down even though it does cause some problems.

Cicely and I went to the show early in the day hoping to beat the crowds but that didn't happen. We ran some pre-holiday errands, and ended the afternoon with a nice lunch at one of the casino buffets. I don't know, something about casino buffet food always gives me mega-gas!

Maybe it's because I eat so many different foods that I normally don't eat and eat a little bit more than I should? But it's so good at the time, so I guess fartin' is just part of the experience!

Ta Ta

Alright, I think that is about it for today. I may go back to the gun show tomorrow with my pops if he ends up going. Otherwise it should be a day of hanging around the house and doing chores, boring!

Monday it's back to work, which actually I am looking forward to because my nephew and his girlfriend are planning on coming in and I am going to give them a tour of my game studio.

Then after work we go to dad's house for Christmas eve dinner just like we always do, should be a great time, I can't wait!

Enjoy your Saturday and watch out for minivans! Those damn things are everywhere!
