Running Around

The word for today is "errands" and plenty of them. First, we had to run around and find light fixtures for the outside of the house that will be installed tomorrow. I am stoked big-time because they will drastically improve the lighting on the patio out back. I have spent far too many summer nights BBQ'ing or using the smoker in the dark with only the light of a flashlight to see what I am doing, it will be great to be able to see what I am doing.

I wanted the light fixtures to all be wired through the drywall but then I would need to have a private contractor come out and repair those areas of the drywall and then we would have to paint the living and dining room at that time. For now, its an extra expense that we really don't want because just the electric work for the lighting is going to run us around $550, then we have about $300 in bulbs and light fixtures that we have already purchased. If we had to add on the expense of a contractor we would be looking at another couple hundred bucks at least, then paint and related. Definitely something that we want to do, just not right now.

Artwork

While out Christmas shopping last week we came across some artwork that we both really liked and decided that we would wait to buy it but be sure to go back and check it out this week. Then, if we really liked it still the second time around we would buy it. We don't have a lot of art or decorations in the house currently and always sort of wait until we find art and decorations that really catch our eye, that way it has a little more meaning. I mean the walls are by no-means bare, there are just walls that can still use some dressing up. It worked out great today because we both still really liked the art and even found 2 more items to compliment it which for us is rare. That will be the project tonight or possibly sometime tomorrow after the electric work is done. Hanging art and a few other photos that we framed awhile back and have not gotten around to putting up.

AR Drone

Well, once again today there was not any AR Drone flying and I am again embarrassed to admit it. I had planned to take at least one flight sometime later this afternoon but it snowed quite a bit again last night so we had to shovel the driveway and patio again, well snow-blow, yep I got to use my snow-blower finally and it was so friggin' great! By the time we were done doing that, running to Home Depot and a few other places and back home it was already after 6:00 so it was time to start on dinner and a few other things for the night. Maybe tomorrow if I am lucky, it just depends on how long the guys are here doing the electric work I guess.

Family

Tonight we are going over to Cicely's parents house after we have dinner since we have not visited them yet for the Christmas holiday. Usually we go over there on Christmas day but this year with the snow and the other running around and general couch potato lounging we never made it. We do not see her family as much as we use to so its important to us both that we get over there. I like visiting a lot,  she has a really cool family so its always a good time. Not to mention Cicely will get some gifts and we can drop off a few that we picked up for her family. Her family usually does not get me anything because they have enough family to buy for and most things I would want I can't afford myself ha ha. Simply hanging out and stuff is more than enough for me.

Sums It Up

Ok I think that about sums up the day for the most part. Yea there was several more rounds of Fairway Solitaire HD on the iPad and general relaxing but you can only write about that so many times. Ok based on the great smell coming from the kitchen it must be time for taco's in a few minutes. Shortly after we are off to the Mendoza's for a few hours!
