Work Week Is Over

So as you can already tell based on the title of today's entry it's finally Friday for those of you that look forward to that sort of thing. Don't misunderstand, I look forward to Friday as well but I try to keep every day on a upside positive note otherwise the next thing I know I am living week to week only looking forward to the weekends and missing everything in between.

Car Stuff

This morning it's just Zoey and I heading into work. Cicely has an appointment to have her oil changed on her KIA Soul and it seems silly to make Zoey have to wait around for an hour to an hour and a half with Cicely at the car dealership.

This way her and I can go in together and she can get to school much sooner and start playing with her friends and hanging out. Originally Cicely was supposed to get her oil changed last week but because we were both sick she did not feel like going all the way to the other side of town only to sit there feeling like shxt for a couple hours when she could do it this week and not feel like shxt.

The Day

Honestly at this point of the day there's not a whole hell of a lot else going on. I have a fairly busy schedule and I am trying to get more things done for my year end reviews with my team. Other than that I'm just going to try to get through the day and be productive like I was yesterday.

Even though I missed the gym yesterday I was able to workout on the treadmill for quite a while yesterday while Cicely was cooking dinner. I could have went for a ride on the mountain bike had I felt the need which I did, but decided that even though it was fairly nice out I would give it a rest and do the treadmill for my daily cardiovascular workout instead.

This weekend I may go up in the mountains and play around in the dirt on the mountain bike though. There are a couple trails I have been wanting to attempt to add to my 'I Made It!!' list. This is the best time of year to try it as well especially while it is still dry out and I don't have to worry about the trails been covered with snow or a muddy mess.

When it is in the 90°range, closing in on 100° weather it's not that much fun to be up in the hills trying to climb a mountain full of rocks. Not to forget with your pack and everything else on you to sweat like a pig the entire time. While it is still fine and it's own way it's not ideal.

Snowshoeing

Yesterday I started doing some research on snowshoes and what it takes to go snowshoeing. It seems like it could be a fun thing to do over the winter. The only downside I see is finding enough trails and places to go to hold my interest.

I also don't want to have to drive 50-100 miles just to get to a trail in the mountains and hike. If both Cicely and I go and we can tow Zoey in a snow sled and that may make it even more fun for everyone. It's too bad that Oggy is not more of a winter outdoor dog. I would love to take him as well. Unfortunately he would freeze his little butt off and not have any fun so it's better for him to be at home waiting for us keeping warm and snuggled in his bed or on a blanket.

Anyway I did look into them and start to learn the basics of walking in them and the different types of snowshoes that are available. There is a class next week at the local REI unfortunately it's on the day that Cicely has her hair appointment so I will not be able to go and take the snowshoeing class, bummer.

I honestly don't think there is that much to it if I simply research it on YouTube I bet that I will be able to find out as much as I need to know. Plus when I go to buy them at some point I can have the salesman explain the different sizes etc.

Otherwise

Well other than that I think that is everything for today. If something interesting or exciting comes up that changes the dynamics of my day then I'll add to this from there.

Looking forward to the good weather tomorrow and possibly heading up to the mountains to play in the dirt for a few hours if possible. The toughest part will be getting my ass out of the house.

Whatever you're doing have a good time and most importantly- kick ass.
