Finally! It's already Sunday afternoon as I write this entry for today but on the bright side of things I am 100% finished with the initial MBO's and approvals of MBO's for my team for the coming year. What a total pain in the ass the process is and I think that it really needs to be changed.
For managers to have to spend so much time writing them, following up on them and maintaining them it's nearly impossible to do with all of the other day to day responsibilities we are required to keep up on. Not to mention that I think most employees feel as though the reviews are more of an excessive than a building block for their career at the company. I get it and understand where they are coming from to a point though and wish it would improve.
Total so far this year I have spent well over 2 weekends of my time away from work creating, reviewing and getting them ready. I still have to rely on a calibration stage after I'm done which requires days to weeks. Once that is completed there is yet another calibration step where they are all put into the system by HR. We kick those out and wait once again before we can do our 1 on 1 reviews with employees.
No matter at least I am finished with it all for a few months once again and can move on to other things that need and deserve my attention both at work and at home on the weekends.
Quick Ride
Now that those are all behind me and my weekend is nearly shot I think I have just enough daylight left to go out and freeze my ass off in the cold and go for a bike ride for a little while. The high today is only supposed to hit 49 degrees according to the weather guessers. Add in the wind and you have a cold ride.
I have my new blower that I wanted to try out this weekend as well as take up the leaves that are already all over the from and back yard but that does not look as though it's in the cards for this weekend unfortunately. Now I have to keep my fingers crossed that we don't get snow in the coming weeks and the yard is still covered with them. Not only is that a pain to clean up but it's also not good for the yard to be smashed down all winter.
Teething
Also it was a long night for Zoey as well as Cicely. Zoey woke up around 4 or 4:39 not a very happy camper and so we think that she is having issues with more teeth trying to come through.
Poor kiddo tries to be so tough but she can only take so much before she loses her patience and cries. After trying just about everything else the only option left was a small dose of her Tylenol. As much as we would rather not give her that stuff it did help and she was pain free and asleep in only a few minutes after taking the stuff.
Generally the dose that we give her is so small that I am sure it's fine. I think we have only used the full dose maybe one or two times if that ever and that was to lower a crazy temperature she was running during her last cold.
Hopefully she will start feeling better today and tonight though. We hate seeing her in pain or miserable obviously just as any parent does.
On the bright side she was able to eat more normal foods today which was exciting. We gave her some chopped up pieces of potato bread and then some cooked egg whites. She loved them both and we followed them up by her usual veggies and of course a few ounces of her favorite part of any meal - the bottle. It's the quick fix and tummy filler-upper that's for sure and she knows it!
Over
With that the weekend is otherwise mostly over and it's time to start getting ready for the week ahead once again. Tonight is haircut night for me and this week on Thursday and Friday are my last 2 classes for my other certificate up at UNR. I have been looking forward to this legal class for quite awhile so I hope it's as good as I anticipate it to be.
Don't forget that The Walking Dead is on tonight! Then this week Sons is on with only 3 total episodes to go it's not only getting wild but it's a bummer that it's nearly finished for good.
