Reviews & Stuff

Well it's Tuesday and finally I was able to get back all of my teams end of year reviews from the human resources department. We are supposed to have everything done in about two weeks which is nearly impossible had they not gotten everything back in time.

We all had a pretty good feeling they wouldn't get everything back until the first week after Thanksgiving which would have meant we would have less than five or six days to get all reviews done. As it is now I am off the week before Thanksgiving and have school this week so I only have about three days to get all of them finished, signed, sealed and delivered.

This means the majority of my day today as well as tomorrow is going to be spent doing nothing other than everyone else's reviews. I have a team meeting today as well and I'm going to have to cut it short so I can use that time to set up other meetings to do the one-on-one reviews for 2014.

Kubi

Last week I received the telepresence robot that goes by the name of Kubi I have been asking for this for over six months since becoming a manager.

I was finally given the okay to purchase one and so I did and have been anxiously awaiting to set it up. Last night I was going to do that so I can use it in today's meeting but it does not look like I'm going to have the time to do so.

More than likely I'm still going to try and see if I can get it set up it will be really cool to have it working in our meeting today and at least have one of the off-site guys using it. If not I will try to save it for next time and see if we can get it working by then - can't wait!

Daycare

Wanted to mention really quick that there is a another cold going around at the daycare and that really sucks because Zoe just got over her last cold. The current one is called RSV and it's some sort of respiratory virus.

From what we read online it's supposed to only affect newborns and very young infants as well as elderly or people that have long and related problems. Hopefully this means that she will not get it and we will be in the clear I don't want her to have to go through something else so soon after being sick a week ago.

KICKR

So today I finally pulled the trigger her and bought my indoor trainer for my road bike. I went back-and-forth for quite a while trying to decide if I was going to get an actual indoor trainer or if I was going to get a stationary bike that was more advanced and did 20° up in 20° down to simulate various rides.

In the and the kicker ended up being the best device all-around plus it's an open source platform which means that there will always be new technology and abs coming out for it. As it sits now there are ready it's on. With the other one that I was looking at that is the stationary bike I would still need to pay a monthly fee just to get that feature which is free on the water version of the kicker.

If all goes well it should be here the end of this week or on Thanksgiving week which will be perfect based on the weather and my available time for taking rides indoors and training..

Otherwise

Or today have to dive in and get these reviews done as well as my normal work and meetings that are on the calendar for today. I may have to skip out on my work out unfortunately but that's okay because I will have plenty of time off in the coming week to get my workouts and cycling in.
