This morning the day turned into something much nicer and it was actually fairly warm outside. Warm enough in fact that I was able to leave the house for a little while wearing shorts and T-shirt and no problem whatsoever doing so.
Once the sun went down things were a little different though. I had to put on a sweatshirt well one of my hoodies to keep the little bit of chill off my upper body. It was still nice enough to wear shorts and a T-shirt, the problem was it was sprinkling rain again a little and so that made it feel even colder.
Back Flip
So as I was typing this injury Zoey continued to push herself backwards towards the edge of the leather couch. She would get just far enough to where she's bent over backwards, I would grab her legs and pull her little butt forward so she would not tumble over the edge.
Well next thing you know she pushed just enough to where I was unable to grab her fast enough and over she went. She landed on her head then toppled onto her back. I hurried up and put the laptop on the table next to me and went to grab her expecting a loud cry, scream, whine or something to come out of her.
I got nothing more than a giggle and her curiously looking around, wondering how she ended up there and then reaching for her pacifier because it popped out when she landed after her trick.
That's my girl! Although I think the fact that she loves her jumper swing and trying to jump as high as possible and the fact that she loves to swing at the park and pushed as high and as fast as possible (even though we don't go as fast or as high as she thinks we are).
We are going to be in trouble once kiddo starts crawling, walking and everything in-between!
Cycling
So today I was lucky enough to be able to go for a ride again on my new trainer. Today's ride was in California on Highway one. The ride was from San Mateo to this lighthouse used as the destination point of the mapped route.
It was a really good ride and I will have to do it again soon. It starts out with a climb that is fairly intense, a nice downhill and then another climb which kicks your ass a little bit but then it's fairly mellow with down hills and flat sections from there to the end with a few small climbs thrown in to keep it interesting and challenging enough to get a good workout.
The only thing I need to get used to you is that the rides real estimate retake say 30 minutes when in reality they take closer to 45 minutes or maybe 15 minutes. That makes a big difference when you are short on time as I was and then deciding to do the ride and realize that now I was eight minutes behind leaving when I was supposed to leave.
No worries though I was able to get in a good ride and I'm glad I have the trainer because it is proving to be very useful and fun. Especially with days like today and yesterday when there is nothing but rain and wind something I don't want to deal with while cycling. Don't misunderstand, I am not a 100% 'fair weather cyclist' I simply prefer the nicer calm days - who doesn't?
Other Than That
Other Than That
Otherwise that is pretty much it for the day.I was not able to get the cube 3-D printer set up and I am hoping to try to do so tomorrow. If not there is always our vacation over Christmas and I can do it then, no reason to rush.
Well that will be it for today then time to kick back and enjoy what's left of the day and the evening and then what is left of the weekend tomorrow before it's time to go back to work again.
Photo: This was my breakfast today (thanks baby) from Starbucks. It's crazy, their food is not as bad for you as you might think. The drinks on the other hand can be mega-calorie. Anyway, good stuff - oatmeal and a parfait along with a hot zen Tazo tea to wash it all down.
