I did get a late start because the office was being used although I figured I would be able to complete more than that. They were averaging just over an hour and a half each with one going as long as a little over 2 hours.
All said and done so far though they have been very proactive and worth the time investment. I think team members are understanding where I am coming from and know that I am being honest with them completely, where I want them to improve and areas to grow in the coming year. I also make sure it's not one sided and like to hear their career desires.
Today will prove to be a bit of a challenge with 6 more to complete plus the normal daily commitments that I have. My guess is that I will be a little tight on time. I have a couple off-site guys as well so those are unique reviews as well and can often take a little more time to do. My goal is to give everyone every minute that I can, it's for their career after-all and a big part of my job to know what is going on with each of them.
School
Tomorrow school starts back up for me and I am both excited and ready for it to be over with. It's the reason I am needing to rush so much this week with reviews otherwise I would only need to get 2 or 3 done per day. Thankfully my director is out of town this week so I am able to use his office to chat with my team.
So yea, 2 days of school to finish a makeup class that I started back before Zoey was born, actually the week she was born was the reason for me canceling the class. Yea I think that was more than worth it, don't you?
And So
That said I am going to call this entry complete and get my ass out of the house and off to work to get things taken care of. The last thing that I want to do is go into the office next week and do reviews on my vacation - although that is how I am and I would be happy to if necessary to get them completed.
Have a good one! Stay warm and enjoy the dry weather if you are in a location that is not yet covered in snow or getting tons of rain. I guess yesterday the entire US was 32° or lower in every state, crazy! Then a big snowstorm in New York killed 5 people. Not sure how, no time to search for and then read the story but dang - that's wild and sad news for the start of the winter months!
