My plan is to take off next Monday and Tuesday which will mean that we will work for 3 1/2 to 4 days this week if we get out early on Thursday as we do most times just before a holiday weekend. Usually the telltale sign is that we have a lunch for the studio and they announce it either while everyone is eating or shortly after. For us it's great because we can jump right into a 5 day weekend. Should be nice even though it's going to be pretty damn hot.
We are looking to take Oggy to the marina one day and let him take the couple mile walk around it. We have not done that in months and its something he loves and we enjoy doing for him. Plus it will be good for him since he is gaining a little weight. I don't know if Zoey will care much about it, but getting her out is only a huge positive as well.

Pool Party
Today at daycare Zoey and the rest of her class, "The Lambs", are going to have what they call a "splash day". Basically all of the kids get to go into a small "pool" and play for a little while - how cool is that? They are actually not pools in the normal sense of the word, but more like those big, but shallow Rubbermaid containers. It works out perfectly for the kids though. They have a blast, kick and splash around and the bonus is that it wears them out for the day so they take a nice nap after!
You would think that this extended nap would give the teachers some time to relax and catch their breath for a few minutes but its just the opposite. Once you have all the kids out of their wet clothes, into dry clothes and diapers, then laid down for the nap they have to then go out and dump all of the water out of each bin and clean them. Just when they are finishing up, I would bet that the little ones are starting to wake up.

So this morning we, well Cicely had to pack her a bathing suit, sunglasses, sunscreen, towel and all the necessary items she needs to go to the "pool". I think Zoey will have a lot of fun and because she is already used to being in a pool because she has gone swimming once with us at home in her pool I think that she will not be scared and instead will have a blast in the water.
Oh and I can't forget the one cool thing about the pool party is that all of her stuff is in this fancy, gold material, Estée Lauder miniature luggage type bag that her grandma Kay gave her to use for her clothes and related when she goes on trips, sleepovers and things like today. She will be the most stylish one at the pool! Well, either that or it will set the stage for her being the biggest goofball like her mom and dad, not really, but you know how "safe" people are, although in their minds they "think" they are edgy and over-the-top. Makes me "lol", really it does!
Pedaling
So my plan is to go for as many rides as I can this coming week. I have set a goal on Strava of 50 miles for the week. I know it's not really that many miles, there are those that easily ride that or twice that or more in a single session. At the same time they have probably been riding for many many years and I have only been riding just under 2 months or so, mostly as a weekend warrior too.
I plan to get the mountain bike out there as well and play in the dirt a little bit. Thinking I will go to one of the canyons that I have previously went to and have some fun. I think my riding on the road bike may help to condition me a little more on the mountain bike. Although climbs are much more difficult on the mountain bike. Bigger tires, heavier bike and the terrain is slippery, rocky or a combination of those.
Not to forget that if you are on the road bike you can do a little bit of back and forth, almost light swerving, to help maintain and get up hills. Many of the mountain bike trails are single track and there is little to no room and on some, if you did the slight zig-zagging you would end up down a cliff or in a ditch before long.
Dry Off
Well that does it for today. I am actually writing this entry, well finishing this entry, much later than I normally would have. The day has been filled with meetings for scheduling games that are popping on and off the schedule. That is probably the most difficult part of my new role - keeping the schedule straight in my head, knowing when employees are rolling off of games, and what I can put them on next.
I know it seems pretty easy up front, but the thing is a moving target most of the time. Add in that I am limited by the amount of developers I have for each of the 2 current platforms and things get more complex. Last but not least, out of that mix, we only have 10 on my team and we are required to support teams that have 3x or more developers than I do.
Anyway, that will be enough for today as mentioned. Not sure if I will be able to go for a bike ride tonight or not but I would really like to. It all depends on how late we get home and if we cut my hair if I can get it rinsed enough to avoid the little prickly hairs getting into my expensive helmet and driving me crazy here forward. OK this time for real, hope your Monday was good - type to you some more on the flip side!
