Make A Run For The ....

After an event filled day yesterday, Cicely and I ran out of daylight as well as time to finish every last little thing on our need to do and want to do lists. Because of this we ended up not being able to go to the grocery store either. This meant that we had to find something as a backup for dinner. The cupboards were pretty much empty, well not really, but as far as anything that would make a decent dinner were concerned they were barren, as was the fridge and freezer. This could only leave one option, fast food.

So We Made A Run For The Border ....

So Taco Bell has a lot of clever slogans these days but one is really coming to mind as I sit on the toilet typing this entry at 5:00 AM. That being "Make A Run For The Border", well at least the first part of it, "Make A Run For The". That sure seems like exactly what I have done the past hour after waking from a dead sleep due to the fact that my stomach is a complete mess right now. It feels as though I actually did cross the border and go into Mexico and eat some bad food or drink the water - something you never want to do when there. To clarify, eating the food is generally ok, it's the water that will get you almost every time - get it from a sealed bottle people. And even then there are tricks to reusing them that some may attempt.

Anyway, at this very moment I think the slogan for Taco Bell needs to be "Make A Run For The Bathroom" or possibly "Eat Here And You'll Be Up All Night". Yea I either have mild food poisoning or something simply did not agree with me from dinner. I did not eat very much either. Only nachos supreme, which is much smaller than the name implies, and 2 of the nacho cheese Doritos loco tacos. Pretty much the standard meal I get when going there, +/- a taco at times.

Between those 3 items something must have been shady, I have a hunch it was the nachos. As I was eating it there was just something odd about the re-fried beans, but not to the point that you would think it was bad, more like it was not heated up enough or something, I ate it anyway, stupid move!

I am paying for it right now as I have a pretty nasty cold sweat going on, body is shaking and as much as I am embarrassed to admit it I have not been able to get away from the toilet for quite some time since this rumbling and pain woke me up an hour ago.

Oh well, live and learn I suppose. I should know better than to eat fast food, especially late at night on a Sunday just an hour or less before they close for the evening. But I did not have much choice and figured the worst thing that would happen was that I would have farts tomorrow from the food, but surely not this.

The worst part is that it comes in these little waves of feeling like complete shxt. One minute I am feeling a little relief, thinking that I might be hitting the worst part, starting to go in the direction of feeling better and then wham, my body starts to get very cold, shaky - enough that it's hard to type on my iPhone. Last but not least, the sweat starts dripping down my body and immediately I know that something's about to come out of one or both ends any minute.

Anyway I think you get the basic idea of how my day has started out and how it is going so far. I know that Mondays can be a little tricky and rough at times but this was not something that I even considered I would be going through.

Flush

It's almost 6:00 AM and I have been going through this for well over an hour so at least I am getting somewhere right? I have been down this road enough times to know the course it will run, which more times than not it works out to 1 to 3 hours of upset stomach, puking, diarrhea, cold sweats and my body temperature going crazy and ranging from slightly abnormal to 95 degrees and even less one time last year. Then last but not least my body sort of shuts down as I pace the house in hopes of feeling better, slowly falling asleep as I am walking, pacing about. When possible, generally not a workday, this results in me going back to bed or passing out on the couch in a deep sleep for many hours. Unfortunately it's a workday this time so that is not an option. I will be lucky to get another 30 to 45 minutes of the 1 to 3 hours sleep I am in need of.

Enough out of me, both literally and figuratively I suppose. If I could do it all over again I would probably have done the same thing, all things being equal anyway. Sounds crazy I know but I was hungry, it was late and I rarely if ever get sick at Taco Bell. There goes that right out the window!

Have a great day! For me it's time to see if I can go lay down for a little while and then start getting ready for work. Who knows, a shower and big cup of coffee might very well be all I need!

Photo: I am pretty sure that this little bastard was the culprit. If not then I don't know what it was, that is always the unfortunate part when I get sick like this from food.
