Well it's Sunday already and as usual the weekend is flying by at a high rate of speed and I would appreciate it if it would slow down just a few notches! Because you know almost for certain that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and so-on is going to go as slow as molasses because we are at work.
Not that work is a "bad thing", I mean it's what allows us to have cash to have some fun on the weekends, get toys when we want to or something new catches our eye that we just "have to have". At the same time, it's nice to have time off to hang out at home with the family and do whatever we want versus being in the cube walls of work.
Kiddo
So today is an awesome day for me. Cicely has to go to a tea-party that she attends I think once or twice a year with a friend and coworker of ours. It's something that our coworker/friends mom's church puts on and Cicely goes as her daughters +1.
There are no kids allowed at this party which means for me a day at home with Zoey and that makes me really happy to be able to spend time with just her and I. OK, not necessarily a full day but a good portion of the afternoon and I will take it.
As I write this entry she is taking her nap still after eating her breakfast and playing this morning with me. According to my calculations she should be waking up any moment now. Once she does I know she will be pissed off and hungry so I need to get a bottle ready.
That is a big part of the reason that I am trying to get as much of this entry done now while the getting is good. When she wakes up I want to change her diaper and feed her then hopefully play for a while before she conks back out in the usual drunkin' milk coma for another nap.
Then the next thing I know Cicely will be back home and our father / daughter time will be over. I would also like to get out her new jungle gym toy today. It's one of those kinds that has all of the stuff hanging from it and the kids lay on a mad underneath of it and work on their grabbing skills.
I don't think I won't be able to get it out and put together without Cicely here because Zoey will not sit still long enough by herself nor should she have to. Otherwise I could do that today and her and I could have a good time messing with. I don't know maybe I will try.
Okay, well just after that last sentence I noticed that she is slowly starting to wake up. So it's "game on" for me and time to start hanging out with my girl.
If I have some time this afternoon I will add more to this entry at that time on how the rest of the day went. Otherwise, I hope your Sunday is going well.
So Far, So Good
Well Zoey is back in her MamaRoo laying down after having her lunch. This was about 45 minutes or so after having her bottle and after her and I playing on the couch for a little while.
I think she was getting bored with me so I put her back in her swing so she could play with her toys that are attached to it. I am sure they are much more fun than I am. I mean I have a bunch of sounds and stuff but I think based on my limited amount sounds overall as well as the things I can do with my fingers - like honk her nose or come down to her cheeks and tickle her like a bumblebee.
I think she was ready to get back into her chair and play with her real toys after 10 minutes or so but was being kind to me as to not hurt my feelings, LOL. That is okay, my feelings would never be hurt because we had our playtime and it was fun and she smiled a lot and that always warms up my heart. Even if the smiles were out of pure "please let this be over with soon", I will accept them - although I doubt she would do that to her daddy, would she?
Oggy sat there with us entire time making sure that we were having fun and we're safe from any gypsies that may potentially have been passing by. Yeah don't ask - it's just something that Oggy watches out for. He has always had a keen eye for gypsies although I don't think he has ever seen one in real life nor would know what to do if he did come across one. We always let him "protect us" from them anyhow.
The only negative part today is that he was sitting there dozing off on my blanket the entire time ready for an afternoon nap. Who knows maybe that is all part of his "watching out for gypsies" routine.
Dozing Off
Alright, with that I think I'm going to call this post done for the day and put it to rest for a nap. Tomorrow is Monday and I am going to be diving in head first. The week will be a bit of a crazy one because of some new things going on that I mentioned last week but hopefully that will help the week to go by quickly.
Once Cicely gets back from her tea party today I think I may try to go for an afternoon road bike ride. I had planned to take the mountain bike out today or yesterday but I have not put the new organic brake pads on it. I could still go, but it's so damn squeaky and loud that I don't want to. Everyone from a mile radius or more can hear you coming down the hill, kind of messes with the serenity of being out in the hills playing in the dirt and enjoying some time away from the noisy city.
I suppose that depending on how the wind is this afternoon I may be able to get a good 10 to 20 mile ride in. In reality who am I kidding? Even if it is windy I am sure I will still go for a short ride at the very least. Although I'm not going to try and lie, it would be awesome if it was calm out like it was this morning. Fingers crossed for luck!
Photo: Graphics from one of my Fox water bottles I had fun editing while getting Zoey down for a nap. I think that it looks pretty cool, don't you? Although I may have to swap to the Camelbak or Nalgene bottles at some point because these kinda have the odd bottle taste. Not good when you are thirsty and need fresh water ASAP!
