Her and her good friend and designer "Cat" are pretty much set on the models they need and the looks they want them to wear. Although from what I have learned from her shows over the years is that it's always a good idea to show up and make face time with everyone as well as have a few second choice models in your back pocket in case something falls through with your first choice.
She had a great time doing the show last year, the only crappy part is that it was on my birthday but hey, I got to go to her show and watch hundreds of people freak out over her designs. Maybe I am crazy but I think that is a pretty cool birthday present.
Yea, Needed More Crap
So today I went down to REI sporting goods and decided to get a few jerseys to wear when riding the road bike. Those things are so different depending on the brand, style and the size it's really hard to find one that you like and that does not make you look like a tub of lard. I mean I have a few extra pounds to shed, most Americans do, but anyone that has even the slightest amount of extra weight around their waist then you automatically have a muffin top whether you are male or female.
I imagine there has to be some committee, support group ore related for this where they make sure that you are welcomed to the muffin top club of biking, LOL.

In all honesty I am not too worried about it or ashamed of my body as it is. Plus, half of the people that I know that should be out riding or doing something besides sitting on their ass are not. No matter if they are skinny or overweight they should be doing something.
Anyway enough of my preaching even though it was only a small blurb. I am not one to talk about others like that, well I am, but I try not to be because I myself am not perfect of course. Who wants to be perfect anyway what kind of fun is that? Then everyone would basically be a copy and paste of each another, yawn.
So yeah all said and done I managed to get out of the store with 2 new jerseys and no shorts. I decided that I would order the shorts off of Amazon because they were $17 cheaper and with Prime I of course get free shipping. Luckily I was able to find a couple that were on sale also. The colors aren't exactly what I wanted but at least they are fairly cool looking and fit fairly well. Plus I can always get more later.
They are not cheap, average $70 - $200 or more. So my plan was I to get a couple less expensive or on sale jerseys to try out since I honestly don't know exactly what I want or like at this point, I am too new to the hobby/sport. So I kinda figured going this route was the best way to start and not blow a shxt ton of cash on shirts, shorts and Lycra, ha ha.
Yea dunno if I will ever wear those popular Lycra shorts most serious riders do. Although I should be safe and never say never as it may be the best thing going at some point. I already get sore from riding and the chafing is no fun either. Supposedly between the moisture absorbing layer in them you dont deal with those issues, or at the very least you dont deal with them as much or as long.

Thunderstorms
So I was planning to do a ride this afternoon on the road bike because there are several races going on at the trailheads I normally go to, I don't want to get in the middle those. My plan was to head out once Cicely got back home from her auditions but I am not sure if it's going to happen now.
On the way home from REI it was raining those big summertime raindrops. It seems to have stopped but I keep hearing thunder outside and wondering if the rain is going to come back full force.
The sky does look a little better and I don't see any dark clouds anymore so maybe I will get lucky and be able to go after all, even if only for a few miles it would be better than nothing. I need as much practice as I can get.
It was really windy (I hate the friggin' wind) about an hour ago and that seems to have settled down which is a good sign is normally that means something is blowing in. I even saw a fairly big dust devil swirling up, then moving across the road fairly close to the house.
I may be okay to go for a ride based on the way the sky looks now. I do need to get my Garmin mount put on my road bike and my mountain bike so yea, we will see how it all goes. I know that it does not seem like "lots to do" but in reality it actually is because I don't want to be riding at dark. Thankfully it's summertime which means it does not get dark until around 8 PM or so.
Dusk
Anyway that's about enough out of me for the day. If I end up getting to ride today maybe I will rabble about that tomorrow - I am sure you are on pins and needles or will be on pins and needles waiting for it. Yeah, whatever, I only do that so I can reflect back and know what I was going to talk about the next day.
Unfortunately, more times than not, I forget to do just that and go on with what I want to talk about that particular day. That's the beauty of this being my blog, I can do what ever I want.
what if none of that works out? Well then, I am certain that I will have something to write about. That's the great thing about life, there is always something going on you just have to look around.
I hope you had a great Saturday as well. If not you have Sunday to make up for what ever went wrong so long as you are not one of the sheep heading to church. I hope to be able to get Zoey's pool out tomorrow. It's the one that grandma Kay and grandpa Dan got her for Easter. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for us for good luck, thanks!
Photo: Holy crap is it hot out today! I can't seem to drink enough water either, it's like I have eaten a ton of Chinese food - it always sucks all the water out of me.
