Baseball Game

So today's the day that the new policy is supposed to go into affect and be sent out to everyone so they are aware of the changes. I am curious to see what the reactions will be and the type of damage control those of us in management will have to deal with.

Pretty much everyone will be at the baseball game today anyway so they may not even realize what is going on until Wednesday. A little unfortunate the way that it has all fallen to be honest, but it is what it is and will work itself out, right?

Ball Game

So as mentioned everyone is heading off to the baseball game today for food, hanging out and getting to know one-another outside the office for the afternoon. Cicely had an appointment that she had setup for over a month and I honestly did not want to go to the game this time so I passed on the invitation. I do worry that my team may assume that I am not trying to bond or build relationships with them but I think they understand that is not the case.

There are things going on and I am simply not a big baseball fan even though I played for many years, up until high school actually. Then pretty much gave it up for riding my skateboard, listening to punk rock and that sort of lifestyle. Had I stuck with it who knows, I may have been able to pay my way through school, gone pro, or on a league like the local team.

On the flip side, I would not have met Cicely and other aspects of my life would be much different. I am happy with the way things are now and would not change most of it if I were given the chance to. I think all of it lead up to where I am now and where I am supposed to be so I try to appreciate all of the good with the bad.

Strike 3!

On that note I will take this opportunity to head back to the dugout and take a breather. Better known as getting off the blog, focusing on work and hitting the gym in a half hour or so. I think I will do a little extra cardio today if I can get on my elliptical. I don't have to be back to my desk for any specific reason and have no meetings this afternoon either for a change.

Sounds like a plan to me and makes me feel better since I was too lazy to go on a ride last night, it was too windy, I was tired from the day and wanted to sit in my butt - so that was what I did. I still managed to get well over 11k steps in and a full workout earlier in the afternoon so that is a successful day of exercise in my book. With that - play ball!

Photo: Almost no-one in the gym this afternoon. Yesterday the place was full of newB gym rats and yes, it was just as annoying as you can imagine, maybe even a little more.
