Today started out by messing with the dam cable and TiVo Premiere because one or both of them are glitching in such a way that recordings have stopped partially recorded or have been corrupt completely. Really annoying because TiVo points the blame at Charter and Charter points the blame at TiVo.
We had a Charter tech scheduled to come out between 1:00 and 3:00 but we cancelled it because after installing a new digital converted box we had it seemed to fix the problem. We have had this fix once before and it resurfaced so I guess we will see if it works out.
If not it's getting a little old and I may just scrap the $500 Premiere and get the janky box Charter offers. It would suck balls to be frank but its better than missing about every third show we setup to record. I would lose the use of the new TiVo Stream as well but it's a give and take I suppose. I'm simply hoping the new converter does the truck and that's that.
I have tried to watch the Dallas Supercross race 3 times now and it has not recorded so I have given up and will check online to see what the outcome was. Sucks to not be able to watch it after trying 3 times.
Tuff Shed
We were supposed to go get a Fort Knox safe today but after much discussion we are going to most likely wait a few more months and first take care of the storage shed we have been wanting to get.
Neither item is very "fun" but it's something we need and the shed will help us to clear out the garage and allow me to start organizing it better. Then we will basically have a clean slate to have the safe put on. I would like to paint the garage as well so this would give me time to take care of that too.
Most likely we are looking at getting a 7' x 14' sized shed. The width is limited by the fire codes in our area. Otherwise I would probably do a 10' x 12' even though they are both nearly the same cubic space. I guess we will see what fits in our budget and go from there. Either way it will be great to have the extra space to fill up with more crap we should have thrown away or donated.
Update: We spent just under 3 hours at Tuff Shed and finally bought one. We customized it in just about every way we could and ended up getting a 8'x14' with extra height, some cool windows, interior shelving, upgraded floor and walls, insulated and so on. It's going to be really nice, we can't wait! Should be built on March 1st which is the same day that we are having our new furniture delivered to the house and set up. It's a great feeling to be getting things done!
Presidents' Day
Ok so that is about all that is going on for my Presidents' Day. Hopefully yours is going great as well. I am looking forward to going to work tomorrow because we get to go see the new Die Hard movie! I have a doctor appointment in the morning as well so it's going to be a quick day.
Photo: Walls you can draw on at Squeeze In restaurant in Sparks, Nv. Next time I need to get a shot of the area we added some art.
