Early Meetings

Early to bed last night so I could get up early and be somewhat refreshed today. I am use to staying up to at least 11:00 every night so hitting the sack at 9:30 or 10:00 is an exercise in forcing myself to fall asleep. I think I only tossed and turned for 15 minutes or so before I was out for the night.

Meetings

The reason behind the early day is that I am going to be starting some new games this week. Unfortunately my currently assigned game was cancelled due to higher profile themes and new technology on the horizon taking priority and resources. This requires teams to be shuffled and re-prioritized accordingly to make it all come together before our annual gaming show at the end of the year in Vegas. Sounds easy enough I know, when in reality it's a pain due to schedules that were already set for the year and now new games immediately begun on compressed schedules.

Oh well it will only affect me a little and will make for some long days into nights until the team gets into a rhythm and starts gelling with one another. Pretty common protocol, only most times we have some additional time upfront to get the gelling and brainstorming part of it out of the way. No matter, should be fun as usual.

Weather Is Coming

According to the local meteorologist weather guessers, there is supposed to be a decent storm heading our way over the next couple days. Most likely it will get windy this afternoon and much colder which generally pushes the storms towards us. The prediction guess is snow Thursday night and into Friday which should make for a couple of interesting commutes into the studio. At least Friday will be a half day for Cicely and I so she can have additional time to prepare for her upcoming Diva's Day Out show at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino taking place on Saturday.

Focus

Time to set my sights on the remainder of the day and start familiarizing myself with the new games that I am now assigned. Things such as messing with prototypes and jotting down ideas, questions and concerns will be the focus for the remainder of my Wednesday. Most likely with a little gym-time peppered-in for good measure - more-so to maintain sanity.
