Big Ass Hawk

Woke up this morning and started the usual routine; grind Blind Dog, Death Valley roast blend coffee, get Oggy's breakfast ready then brush my grill and continue on with the rest of the routine. Since it was such a warm morning (supposed to hit friggin' 60 today!!) I decided to crack the mini blinds and let some sunshine in and to my surprise there was this big ass hawk sitting on the fence looking back at me. Holy crap was it big, it was like a small baby perched there.

Once the hawk saw me we stared each other down for a moment or two until I guess I won the contest because it flew to the part of the fence way in the back of the yard. I threw on my shoes and grabbed my phone to try and get a shot of it. Unfortunately it flew off the instant it saw me walking out back. I took video of it but it was gone in an instant (crummy photo to follow).

Anyway, really dam cool to see but scares me that it will mess with my fuzzy kid. I think Oggy is big enough that the hawk would not mess with him but it still worries me a little. Lucky for us we generally only see it every couple years or so and probably not even the same one. I figured worst-case maybe I scared it away and it will not come back.

Furniture

Last night after work we stopped by RC Willey to pick up our bedroom lamps we ordered last week and had come in Wednesday - although they never called us to let us know they were in. Luckily we remembered so we did not have to make a trip over to that side of town over the weekend. Anyway, while there we  decided to quickly glance at some living room furniture again. Yea "quickly" being the key word - 3 hours later we were starving and decided to call it a night and ponder all of our measurements and the styles we agreed upon on our drive home.

On the bright-side I think we found some new furniture that we both like and pieces that will maximize the seating in the room and at the same time open up the room a little more. We plan to check out MOR and Ashley furniture stores at lunch to be sure we have looked at our other options and have not missed a better fit. I think it will be a wasted trip but at least we know that we have checked all of possibilities.

Mute

That is about it for today. Uncharacteristically busy day overall for a Friday which will be great to help move the day along and get into the weekend. For most it's Super Bowl weekend (yawn) so Sunday I will most likely be the 1% that is not beating their wife, pigging out on chicken wings and 7 layer dip and I am not embarrassed to admit it either. I have my sports and you have yours, so enjoy your day and don't beat your wife, even if she deserves it, it's still fucked up!

Happy February 1st! Go Hawks!! Oh wait, they're not in the Super Bowl huh?
