Today is officially the first day of my vacation, well our holiday vacation that is. Cicely, myself as well as Zoey and Oggy should all be sitting around in our pajamas right now deciding what we are going to do for the rest of the day. Unfortunately that is not the case at all and really very suck-ass!
Cizzle-Cube
Cicely has a project at work that she is really far behind on and honestly by no fault of her own what-so-ever. She has been busting ass on it non-stop every day the past couple weeks but cannot seem to be able to come up for air.
Everything from the art being changed around every other day to things like the game not running as it should be on the hardware due to some issues that of course relate back to the poor planning and daily changes of the game.
I am really bummed about this to be 100% honest and hate the fact that she is having to go into work. We rarely spend a good amount of time with each other this time of year so I was looking forward to it. It's not her fault at all either. She has been on the short side of the stick this time so that makes it sting even more knowing that it's been so out of her control the entire time.
If the game was simplified it would help her out quite a bit as well because then she would not have to worry about all of the 3D aspects of it. Unfortunately that too is not an option as its too late to turn around and go the other direction with it. Simply removing that would save them more than 30-50% development time as well as all of the potential bugs, tweaks and oddities that will surface later because of it.
Not much that I can do other than support her. I have had to do similar things in the past as well and as much as it stinks it comes and goes and we can only hope the same does not hold true the next time around.
Daycare
I do feel bad today because Zoey was supposed to be out of daycare until the first of the year because we are off work. Cicely went ahead and took her in today because I wanted to have the freedom to get things done and run around a little if needed and do a few things.
I have a feeling that she is not super happy with me today because of that and, well I can't say that I blame her. At the same time I probably would have just went to work today had I known that she was planning to do the same. I have some meetings that I need to attend later in the afternoon anyhow so that would have been as good of a time as any to do so and then just leave early. Who knows I might actually go ahead and do that.
Go into work, hang out for the meeting that is planned mid-afternoon and then get Zoey and head home for the rest of the day with her. This may also give Cicely the opportunity to stay at work as late as she wants to potentially not have to go in tomorrow or this coming weekend again.
Dad's Surgery #2
Today dad goes in for his second of two surgeries to have cataracts removed from his eyes. Last time, a few weeks back he had them removed from his left eye now today it's over to his right eye.
It does not sound like much fun to me and I am sure that it's not although he said that the procedure is super quick, painless and easy. The most annoying and difficult part is that you have to put drops into your eye and at various intervals for something like four weeks after the surgery.
All that dad could say afterwards besides how easy everything was, was how good he could already see even after the first day. Things were much sharper and he did not feel as though he was straining or anything to look at things that he may have seen a little blurrier or related.
This is awesome news and although I have zero interest in getting the surgery, although most over 70 seem to need it at some point in their lives, it's good to know that it's basically as easy as going to the dentist and getting a filling. More of a hassle and annoying than anything else.
Too bad more things related to our bodies and repairing them are not this simple and routine! Who knows maybe one day more things will be this way and much less if not zero invasive.

My To-Do's
So today at the very least I need to try and get my insurance for my car switched over to my new car. Then possibly change my registration over to the new car as well. Although with the registration I may actually wait until the first part of 2015 to give myself a little padding going forward in case things are tight around the holidays in the future. Plus because dealers give you a few days before you officially need to register a car I might as well take advantage of 'free' days right?
Next I would like to continue to work on the photos and getting them switched over to the fixed layout. What a pain in the ass and I have a feeling even after its done there will be a few issues that I will have to resolve. There are a few galleries that are outside of any of the folder structures I have setup so either they are screwed up or it was something that I was in the middle of before I accidentally screwed up the entire thing with one mistaken click on my touch-pad. Yea, I still think this is stupid and something they need to address so users have some way back out of issues like this.
They do provide the ability to preview a change like this as well as ask you once if not multiple times if you are really, really sure you want to do the change. Of course I did not think to scour around at other pages to see what it may or may not have affected. My focus was solely on this particular folder and galleries that were within it. Little did I know it was linked to the entire website and every gallery of the same type, stupid!
So Yep, that is the 'fun' that I will be participating in today. I know that you are more than jealous and I don't blame you for also being envious of my awesome vacation, day one.
Tomorrow
So with that I wish you a great Monday if you are sitting at work today, mind wandering with regards to the upcoming holiday, time with family and friends as well as time away from the office and most of the normal day-to-day. Enjoy it while you can, I plan to do my best to do the same otherwise the next thing we know it will be the New Year and time to start all over again.
Not to forget tax season, oh how I hate that time of the year. I am very curios how things will work out this year having a write off because of our beautiful baby girl. With the luck or lack of that I tend to have with that sort of benefit I won't be surprised if I fall into some new loophole and it does not help us out whatsoever- boy would that suck! The money goes straight into savings but still, would like to have every penny back we can get!
Ah okay enough about that until it's time to actually worry and stress about it. For now the focus is on Christmas and the coming days with family and spending the first Christmas with Zoey and seeing how good she does opening up her presents from family and Santa!
Photo: This is the cool device that I helped sponsor on either Kickstarter or Indiegogo about a year back. It's so you can remotely see your fuzzy kids, interact and give them a treat - pretty cool huh?
