New Car

Today started off with me running down to the car dealership to take care of the initial paperwork so that I could take delivery on my new car. The process of the paperwork was actually really fast and all of the things that I anticipated were not a problem either.

Dealership

Showed up around 9:30 AM to find the salesman I had been talking to over email and text for a week so I could finally meet in person and introduce myself. He was right out front helping another customer so this was super easy, I recognized him straight away from the photo that accompanied his email signature. Okay so that was easy, the place was booming so I figured it was going to be tough. From that point forward not a single thing was any more difficult than that.

We sat down and he had some paperwork ready for me so that I could be on my way. I signed the 3 or 4 pages of paperwork, showed I.D. as well as proof of insurance and registration which kicked off the next process.

Before all of this I was planning to come back and take care of all the financing paperwork later in the afternoon or after work but because I was already there I figured I would get it all done so Cicely would not have to make several trips back and forth picking me up and taking me back over there.

So once that paperwork was complete it was a few steps over to the finance office. Once again super easy and nearly everything was ready and waiting for me to sign with the exception of just a few things. Wow I thought to myself, this was just too damn easy, honestly I think it was one of the easiest new car transactions to date. I thought about it very hard before this next sentence and I am comfortable saying that it was even easier than my Honda experience many years back.

Honda was done entirely online as was this deal which is great. Same with Honda I had everything set - walked into the dealership, signed on a few dotted lines and left with the vehicle that I was looking for. This may seem trivial but it's not, Honda set the bar very high and once again KIA knocked their socks off and set the bar one step higher.

So that is all taken care of for another 3 years or so which is a great feeling. It's never that big of a deal it's just the spending of the money part that sucks. New registration fees and so on. Still to have a new car, all the latest in safety and related is always worth it to me. In the long run I don't spend much more than anyone else unless they keep their cars for 10+ years. Even then it's a bit of a stretch because there are problems that come up and so on.

Home

After a fairly long day, that went by at the speed of light it's nice to be back home and resting. This cold is still kicking my ass and I have been hacking at work which is always annoying and aggravating for not only me but I would imagine for all of my cube neighbors as well. Thinking to themselves they wish I would take my sick hacking ass home as to not get them sick. I can't say that I blame them but I can say that I would if I did not have 2 weeks of vacation time coming up just around the corner.

After tomorrow I will be free of all things work related for the most part for over two work weeks which translates into sixteen or so days off in a row! I can't wait and I want to get as much done as I can and have wanted to. At the same time I want to get over this cold and not be sick the entire time!

Days Over

Alright I am putting a fork in this entry and calling it a day. I want to go out and attempt to ride a few miles on the trainer if possible. I mean yes, it is possible, but whether or not I will have a coughing attack is another question. Only one way to find out right? Or heck maybe I will just make it a treadmill night and not risk it. Hmm, decisions decisions!

Photo: Random piece of artwork in the dealership today. Yea I know you figured it would be a photo of my new car today - nope not this time. There are some things I just don't post.
