Fucking Cold Bug

So just as I was concerned about happening, happened. My cold that has been in my head and throat for just over two weeks has now decided to move down into my chest. That is exactly what I was hoping would not happen because coughing and hacking at work is no fun at all. Not to mention all of the green goop I am constantly coughing up.

I was initially concerned that I might have a slight case of streptococcus because I looked in the back of my throat with a flashlight and saw lots of white areas of inflammation. Thankfully based on everything I read on the web and the photos I sifted through that's not it, rather just a really pissed off sore and irritated throat with the addition of a cough.

It's the weekend now so I will take a couple days to get some extra sleep and chill out time. Hopefully that will be enough to speed up my recovery process and feel better overall next week. I was already sick through all of thanksgiving so I would rather not be sick over Christmas as well.

After Work

So after a long day at work today we need to run some errands and I need to go look at another ladder. I already have two really good ladders, one is just your standard 6 foot fiberglass model and the other is one of the Little Giant Pro ladders. They are really cool because they go every which way from an 'A' frame to an 'A' frame with offset legs like you would use on stairs for example.

Then you can go as far as to extend the entire thing out like a straight extension ladder. Very cool, but a little tough when in tight quarters because of the need to extend it and have the room to do so as well as the weight, it's about 15 pounds or so heavier than a typical ladder and for good reason, but still does not help when in a hallway or something.

So I am going to stop by The Home Depot in the way home as well as Sherwin-Williams if I can't find what I am looking for at Home Depot. Problem is, the one at Sherwin-Williams is the pro version. Holds a bit more weight, is a little more heavy duty over all but runs nearly $80 to $100 more than the standard home owners version. If I could get my dad to wait a few more days I could save even more money so I am not sure what I am going to do. I would prefer to save a little cash especially since it's not something I use often.

Really I am only buying it to make helping him easier and it's something that I will actually use and find useful around the house at times but again, not something that I really needed or wanted to drop the $$ on. No matter, we will see how it goes, maybe I will get lucky and Home Depot will still have a few of them. Their website says they are only available online but I am positive I saw them there the last time we were looking around.

**Update: So we could not find any of the ladders at Home Depot but I was sure that I had seem them there just over a week ago, maybe 2 at the most. Cicely went and asked one of the employees if they knew if they had any in the back or anything. The first girl said "nope" but a girl standing next to her said "hang on a sec, lets go look in the managers office, there may be one in there still that has been sitting around for a couple weeks".

Well as luck would have it there was still one there and what is even more exciting is that they were all on clearance originally and this was the last one that they had at this store. So rather than paying around $228+ for one I only had to pay $48 the brand new one I got tonight - can you believe that?!? I know that I cant believe that it would be that much less expensive.

So you could say that yes, I am really jazzed about it and had no idea that I would get so lucky tonight and be able to get one for that kinda cash! We also picked up a neat stocking for Zoey as well as some bulbs and things that we did not need but were very cool. There is another set that I am going to order off of Amazon that allows me to change their color as well as have them blink in particular patterns too I believe.

The tree they have in the store on display is the only one you can buy and unfortunately it plays music, loud and annoying and the lights sync with that as well. So we went on Amazon and found just the lights. Sure they are something like $70 compared to a nice box of the LED lights we have running around oh I dunno, under $20. But it's app controllable and bad ass!

Until Next Time, Or Tomorrow That Is

Anyway that is all that is going on today. Work was pretty much normal other than being really busy for a Friday. Typically they are not too bad and fairly empty as far as meetings go. Today was the opposite, tons of meetings and so many things to take care of. I think I managed to get about 1/3 of them done. Does not sound like a success I know, but considering all of my to dos on any given day, today was actually a total success in my book. Depending on next week I may be able to get fully caught up. Hey I can dream right.

Photo: I really like this photo that you see in your car, usually under the visor. It's very similar to the one on the highway when approaching tight corners. Finally remembered to snap a photo of it today in Cicely's car. Oh and yes, had to fuss with it a little in Aviary just because.
